“Today’s announcement is a key juncture in the national effort to end homelessness. YMCA has long called for a coordinated, preventive approach to tackling this crisis, and we strongly welcome this new cross-government plan, backed by £3.5 billion in investment. The voices of people with lived experience, alongside frontline organisations, are clearly reflected in this strategy, and that is essential for meaningful, lasting change. “Across England and Wales, YMCA provides more than 10,000 beds each night and supports over 20,000 people each year, so we see every day the transformational impact of safe, stable housing. Measures to boost prevention, strengthen collaboration between public services, and increase good-quality temporary accommodation will make a real difference. “We commend the ambition to halve long-term rough sleeping, and welcome continued reform of the private rented sector and investment in supported housing. What matters now is delivery. Local authorities, charities, and communities must be equipped and empowered to implement this plan. "YMCA will continue to work with government and partners to ensure homelessness comes to an end, and that every young person has the safe home they need to thrive.” #YMCA #Homelessness

Honoured to represent YMCA at today’s roundtable discussion with @lisanandy and a reception with @Keir_Starmer to discuss the youth sector’s role in the creation and development of a bold new #CivilSocietyCovenant partnership. #YMCA
YMCA England & Wales@YMCAEng_Wales

Our Chief Executive, @Denise_Hatton attended the #CivilSocietyCovenant today at 10 Downing Street, led by @lisanandy. This marks a ‘new beginning’ of relationship between the government and civil society to tackle some of the most pressing issues our communities face. #YMCA

We have joined the country’s leading homelessness and housing organisations, to raise the alarm regarding the perilous funding cliff-edge homelessness services across the country are currently facing. Everyone should have access to affordable, safe and secure housing. #YMCA
Homeless Link@HomelessLink

A stable homeless sector is an investment in society. But nearly £1bn is set to leave the sector in April, putting vital services at risk On #WorldHomelessDay our letter to @RachelReevesMP, signed by 75 of our members, calls for action in the AutumnBudget.

YMCA has always been a place where all have been welcomed and we will continue to work steadfastly to create spaces that bring communities and people together to establish a society where unity prevails over violence.
YMCA England & Wales@YMCAEng_Wales

All of us at YMCA are shocked and saddened at the scenes of mindless violence that we have witnessed on the streets of our communities over the past few days. Our communities are for all. They welcome all. Violence is never the answer, and discrimination is never the solution.
