Prosecutors allege that Luis Ortiz was paid $5,000 for throwing an intentional ball on June 15th and Emmanuel Clase was also given $5,000 for facilitating it. They did it again on June 27th, which the respective payments increasing to $7,000 on that occasion. Clase and Ortiz could face up to 65 years in prison if convicted on all charges, per @JeffPassan

they went 7-21 in May, that included an 11 and 9 game losing streak that stretched into June. Basically 20 losses in 21 games essentially killing any chance of contending. With 2 weeks left it looks like they’re about to make that awful month standup
