@rocknrollofall Eddie Van Halen is normally rated a higher skilled guitarist.
Then you have Hendrix himself. Died way too early.
But me, I think Prince was underrated because he sang and played other instruments, but he was awesome with guitar.

@MickHolmes4 @MikeySoltis @rocknrollofall I think his guitar tech said he eventually settled on 10 high E. Maybe an 11. Anything over a 48 gauge low E loses punch, it just farts. I think at one point he was using a 58 gauge low E.
Keep in mind he was tuned down a half step throughout his career.x.com/DennyRun/statu…

@MikeySoltis @rocknrollofall He eventually switched to lighter gauge strings. Bending like that is murder on your callouses. He would apply layers of crazy glue on his to keep them from getting torn by the heavy gauge plain strings. It's almost impossible to keep the neck from bowing during touring with 13s.
