Here we have another Veterans family dog - a working dog on their farm - scheduled to die for his first bite incident on his families property! Even the person he bit (grandma) is desperate to save him. He was doing what he was supposed to do - protecting the family!! He's been held for 8 months now in the shelter. The family and their children are devastated!! Be aware - if you go to the ER or your doctor for a bite wound - they will report it! It doesn't matter the circumstances. Please share. Call (info in original post below).

🚨 SAVE SNUGGLES: Court Orders Euthanasia of Military Veteran’s Family Dog Snuggles is a 2-year-old livestock guardian dog belonging to a military veteran and his family in Tucson, Arizona. He lives with his mom, dad, and two young children who love him dearly and see him as their protector and best friend. Snuggles is now sitting in Pima Animal Care Center after a court ordered euthanasia ruling following a bite incident that occurred on his family’s property while he was on guard duty. He has now been sitting in the shelter for AMOST 8 MONTHS away from the family he has known his entire life. According to the family, this was Snuggles’ first bite incident. The bite victim was the children’s grandmother, and she is also fighting to save Snuggles and bring him home. The family believes Snuggles is being misunderstood for doing what guardian dogs are bred to do: protect their home and family. Snuggles is not a monster. He is a working guardian dog with a family desperately fighting for his life. PLEASE TAKE ACTION ‼️ Steve Kozachik, Director of Pima Animal Care Center 📞 (520) 724-5900 📧 steve.kozachik@pima.gov ‼️ Chad Kasmar, Deputy County Administrator 📞 (520) 724-7733 📧 chad.kasmar@pima.gov Please say: “Hi, I’m calling regarding Snuggles, the livestock guardian dog currently facing euthanasia in Tucson. I’m asking for a fair review of his case and consideration of alternatives to euthanasia.” Please remain respectful. #SaveSnuggles @JenniferEvn22

Court date June 12. BE LOUD. BE CLEAR. BE RESPECTFUL. Lucy is NOT a dangerous dog. She is a senior, she had a medical procedure, was on meds and wearing a cone. Zero injuries. #savelucy ecooper@shenandoahcountyva.us

After posting Lucy's rescue story to Facebook yesterday, a representative of the organization that helped me bring her back, Puppy Rescue Mission @PuppyRescueMiss (they are far more active on FB - look them up there and support them) reached out to me with some photos of Lucy that I had never seen before. These photos were taken during those strange days after I had sent my desert companion to the city of Amman in a crate in the bed of a corrupt official's Hilux truck. After Ali rolled out with my friend's life in his hands, I was so afraid of what might happen. He could get distracted by something else and release her, never for me to see her again. He could abandon her in the crate to die a horrible death of dehydration and desiccation. He could shoot her for sport. He later joined ISIS, or so I heard, so perhaps I'm lucky that he didn't. He really wanted the authentic Oakley sunglasses I had promised him. The call from Dr. 'Ala in Amman, telling me that he had received my sweet girl, came as sweet music to my ears. The next few days, prior to my own departure, dragged on. I missed my desert pearl. Thank you for these photos. God, I love that dog. #SaveLucy @Herb_Minstrel @LoneStarChica

My dad handed me two clothespins. “This,” he said, “is the story of everything.” In one hand: a clothespin from the 1960s. Solid hardwood, smooth from decades of use. It still works perfectly, some 60 years later. In the other: a clothespin from 2025. Lighter, paler wood, brittle. The spring is thin and unstable. Marketed as “extra durable,” my dad just raised an eyebrow. At first glance, it’s just two clothespins. But they tell a bigger story — the shift from durability to disposability, from craftsmanship to cost-cutting, from stewardship to constant consumption. This is planned obsolescence in action. Products are designed to fail so we must keep buying. Slowly, subtly, they break. Frayed wires, cracked hinges, brittle springs. Not because we want more, but because the old was never built to last. The costs are everywhere. Landfills overflow. Wallets empty. And maybe most quietly, our spirits grow accustomed to impermanence, to the idea that nothing is meant to endure. What if this philosophy extends beyond objects? What if it shapes how we treat relationships, communities, homes, even the Earth — as temporary, replaceable, disposable? It doesn’t have to be this way. That 1960s clothespin reminds us another path is possible. That we once made things to last, and we can again. That quality, care, and intention matter. That we can design for repair, for continuity, for meaning. The story in my palm is about more than laundry. It’s about the choices we make and the world they create.

Keep #SaveLucy Trending. Repost and new post the shit out of this. We need to get support to get Lucy back home with her family. Mom and Dad are both veterans n the kids miss this dog. Lucy is 11 years old. She does not belong in Shenandoah County, VA dog jail. Lucy has been kept there for over a month, the veterans owners and their kids NOT permitted in to even see their old dog. She’s 11 years old. This is BULLSHIT. #SaveLucy

I saw a couple at a restaurant yesterday, and the mom asked her husband to hold the baby so she could finally eat her food. She took exactly three bites. Just three. The baby started fussing, and the husband immediately handed the child right back to her, laughed, and said to the waiter, “I guess she just likes her mom more. Must be nice to be the favorite.” The waiter smiled and walked away. The mom just looked down at her cold plate. But it made my stomach turn because for the last hour before that food even arrived, she had been: rocking the stroller, digging through the diaper bag for toys, wiping up a spilled drink, soothing a teething infant, managing the entire family's nervous system... while the husband sat there sipping his beer and staring at the TV above the bar. And honestly, I think that’s why so many wives are completely checked out. Not because they mind taking care of their kids. But because they are carrying the entire weight of the family while someone else treats it like a hobby they can just opt out of.

My husband and I both work full-time, but somehow after we got married, all the house chores quietly became my responsibility. Even when he helped, it felt like he was “assisting” me instead of us both taking care of our home. One week, his mom came to visit. I was cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, basically running around the house while my husband sat on the couch watching football. I asked him if he could help vacuum and he casually said, “Later,” without even looking up. His mother looked at both of us and said “Did you both not come back from work yesterday at the same time?” I laughed and said, “We did.” Then she asked my husband, very calmly, “So why is she the only one working today too?” Silence. That woman got up, took the remote from his hand, switched off the TV, and handed him the vacuum cleaner. Then she said, “Marriage is not a system where one person rests while the other manages everything. If both of you are contributing financially, then both of you contribute at home too.” She then looked at me and said “I didn’t raise my son to think his wife is his personal maid, Don’t let exhaustion become your personality because you’re trying to prove you’re a good wife.” I swear that sentence changed something in me. Now we split things properly . If I cook, he cleans up. If one of us is overwhelmed, the other steps in. The entitlement disappeared completely. She still calls sometimes just to ask him, “Hope you’re not stressing my daughter?” 😭

The avocado oil bottle in your cupboard, the one with the little silhouette on the label, the one you paid £8 for because you'd done your research and you weren't going to be fooled by Big Seed Oil. A 2020 UC Davis study tested commercial avocado oils. 82% were rancid or cut with cheaper oils. Three bottles sold as "pure extra virgin" were near-100% soybean. The bottle said avocado. The bottle was soy. You paid £8 to avoid soybean oil. You bought soybean oil. And the punchline, the real one, the one nobody in the wellness aisle wants to mention: even when it's the real thing, avocado oil is still 13% polyunsaturated fat. Beef dripping is 3%. Costs £3.20. Cannot be faked because nobody bothers. The dripping was the answer the whole time, in the chiller, where the pensioners shop. Nobody put it on Instagram.

It's Memorial Day. Like many of you, I'm thinking today of someone who gave the last full measure. While we remember those that didn't make it back, I say we honor them by releasing one who did: my dog. She did nothing wrong, but she's in a cell. #SaveLucy @realDonaldTrump
