If crypto’s future is financial infrastructure, staking can’t stay static. We at @Kintsu are building Democratic Staking Markets, where delegation is actively managed, validators compete on real performance (uptime, execution, MEV), and capital flows continuously instead of ossifying around early defaults. @StovenLabs would love to share the vision

We just closed Dragonfly Fund IV at $650M. It's a big milestone, and yet, it’s a weird time to celebrate. Spirits are low, fear is extreme, and the gloom of a bear market has set in. But here's the thing: we raised almost every single Dragonfly fund into bear markets. Fund I we raised through the 2018 ICO winter, when almost nobody believed in this space anymore. Fund III we raised right before Luna collapsed. Those were brutal times to deploy capital. But they turned out to be our best vintages. Last week I caught a lot of heat for arguing that non-financial crypto has failed. I meant that. But the flip side of that argument is: financial crypto is exploding. Stablecoins are eating the world. DeFi has grown so big it's rivaling CeFi. Financial institutions around the world are racing to build out their crypto strategies. And prediction markets are becoming the most trusted source of truth on the internet. Fund IV is our biggest bet yet that the crypto revolution is still early in its exponential. If you look at our recent bets—Polymarket, Ethena, Rain, Mesh—the growth speaks for itself. Agentic payments, on-chain privacy, the tokenization of everything—crypto's surface area is about to explode, and we want to be backing the founders at the center of it. We've always believed that the most important work gets done when the noise dies down. We believe moment is now. In fact, we’re putting money on it. If you're building what comes next, @ us.

Idk who needs to hear this, but there is a difference between "decentralizable" and "decentralized." One is a tech thing. whether it is even theoretically possible for a protocol to share control of its processes. This is a technical property and a spectrum. One is more of a business thing. In practice how it actually ends up. This is a current operational state, a part of a journey. Then you can reason about if you think this will be a failed journey or a worthwhile or successful pursuit. I can rattle off a billion examples. But lets start with a small handful of well know cases in crypto: - Ethereum is tech. It is decentralizable. If all of the validators are all run by one person, that isn't decentralized. Same with Solana, Monad, Hyperliquid, Starknet, Base, Arbitrum, or whatever your favorite chain is. I'd argue most of these have achieved decentralization, or are one step away. For example, a chain continuing to scale up the active set, increase adoption of staking, or once the L2 decentralizes its sequencer. - Uniswap pools are tech. They are fundamentally is decentralizable. If a pool is full of different LPs, it is decentralized, no one person controls the price. However, if there is only 1 or 2 market makers in the pool who together commands 90% of the LP, it is much more centralized. But that doesn't mean it cant grow in popularity and become a much more reliable pricing and trading tool over time. This is a perfect example of progressive decentralization. I'd posit this mental model is very similar for Lending markets like an AAVE, Euler, Morpho, Curvance, Neverland or Townsquare. All technologically decentralizable - offering a path - where each pool/market has a journey to progressively becoming [more] decentralized. - Open Zeppelin governor-bravo is decentralized governance. Or something like ve-tokenomics. But if one person has all of the tokens [voting power], or no one else is active, that isn't actually super decentralized, but it is indeed fundamentally decentralizable. Here you can also point out the v(3,3) skews voting power heavily to early insiders, which may give it a lower upside in terms of the potential for strong decentralization long term. - Traditional LSTs tend to have a centralized team who chooses the validator set. They are the sole curator. Kintsu goes beyond all of these standards to be radically decentralizable, confronting the hard issues of achieving the state of being truly decentralizable. Governance is just hard. We sought out to make a system that is puts validators in competition and removes the Labs company as the only judge, instead putting this power into the hands of the Kintsu DAO token holder. We carefully crafted the incentives to score validators on how well they generate yield on the stake delegated to them, and let many curators compete to choose the best fantasy validator team. You can take an active or passive role, you'll see a lot of themes from dPoS and representative democracy here. The goals is - and has always been - to scale LST penetration 10x to create a much greater impact on Monad network GDP. Liquidity and security shouldn't be competing with each other, and when normal LSTs intermediate the stake delegation decision, it creates an unhealthy power vacuum at scale. Kintsu solves this. TLDR: There is a difference between decentralized tech (aka "decentralizable") and actually being a decentralized operation with multiple parties playing different roles and being competitive without revolving around some single high priest. One is about mechanism design, control, and incentives. That is just the beginning of the game. Getting there is how the game actually plays out and where we are in the process.
