Tesla has paused rollout for Model Y L FSD in Australia and I can see why. Today we did our first road trip with v14 and it had some teething issues. This feels like a build that would benefit from further refinement before wider release, especially since v13 was so strong and reliable at the basics. We encountered several critical interventions, ongoing speed management challenges (including some indecisiveness), and the car occasionally struggling to stay centered in the lane. Tesla will no doubt remedy the issues and v14 will end up being an amazing update for customers. But right now, I’d still take v13 over v14 on every single drive.

If a child chokes on an age-limited toy that clearly states “choking hazard”, is the toy company responsible? If an adult abuses a clearly labeled prescription or OTC medication, disregards the instructions, and is harmed, is it the pharmaceutical company’s fault? Or the pharmacy? The answer should clearly be no to both of these scenarios. So why, when Tesla’s Owner’s Manual clearly states the limitations of its ADAS software, as does every other OEM (i.e, pressing the accelerator limits or prevents braking/AEB) and displays an alert to the driver (in practically any language), does this magically mean Tesla is at fault in your head? You’ve lost Electek every ounce of respect it once had from asinine takes like this. You constantly assume malice and ill intent when it’s uncalled for. Your “journalism” invalidates real statements by executives and team leads. It’s okay to be speculative, it’s an entirely different beast to attempt to convince your audiences where fault should be placed. There are no guilty parties until an investigation is completed.

These Elon Musk glazers are getting more dangerous by the day. They are way too quick to just accept Tesla's vague interpretation of the data logs, which no one else has seen. Yes, it's a pedal misapplication, I've said from the start, but that doesn't absolve Tesla. What led to the pedal misapplication? What if FSD did something weird and the driver wasn't ready, panicked, and pressed the wrong pedal? Doesn't that sound likely? As in the Florida case last year, a jury would likely assign some blame to Tesla again, even though the driver certainly deserves blame as well. Ask yourself that question: if FSD were not a thing, would this innocent woman be dead?

@kylaschwaberow Yes, this makes no sense. FSD drives slowly through neighborhood streets and this was a high speed crash!

I think @Tesla_AI needs to consider the benefit of its users running Advanced Software. It seems us being the Beta testers for the Advanced Updates gives us nothing in return, benefits wise. I suffered it out but in the long run, I always get the last wave of the updates.

The insurance market for Tesla appears to have changed a lot in Australia. Many don't list FSD anymore and others do. What is the BEST in Australia? Zurich via Tesla seem pretty good but charge $$ more to pay monthly.

Remember when FSD 13.2.9 on the Cybertruck was trash while it worked much better on the S3XY vehicles.

Thanks to the idiot behind me who clearly DIDN’T have Tesla’s FSD on his car, that smashed my new Tesla Y Performance because he was distracted. So easily avoided with FSD. ⁦⁦@TeslaAUNZ
