Today, we were able to catch up with 2026 Ben Davis right guard and defensive tackle, Azaeis Miner @AzaeisMiner . Azaeis is a 4 year football play for Ben Davis and was part of the 2023 state championship team. We asked Azaeis what he is most looking forward to going into his senior season? Azaeis: "Going into my senior year I'm looking forward building off of last season. I was blessed to win a state title in my sophomore year and I loved that feeling. This will be my last chance to get another ring with my teammates that I have been grinding with for what would be 4 years" How have you worked during this off season to perfect your craft and build yourself for your senior year? Azaeis: "We always have off-season workouts with the team, which has been a huge help. Getting in extra reps and watching film. What I feel has been just as helpful is off-season camps. I get to learn from a lot of different people while going up against different levels of competition. I don't have to take it easy at camps. That allows me to try to simulate game reps as much as possible". When asked which game he is looking forward to the most Azaeis responded with "Warren High School for sure. That is our cross town rivalry. That is alway a big game for us. Everyone comes out to watch us compete against them". We then asked Azaeis what his pre-game go to music, snack, and ritual is? Azaeis: "Go to music is Slime Mentality by NBA Youngboy. My go to snack is probably gummy bears. My pre game ritual is praying with my teammates. Being grateful for those moments together". We have been blessed to have Azaeis as a DeBree Athlete and it has been great getting to know him. Azaeis has been to most of our DeBree Football Camps and we were able to watch him at the @IndyWeOutHere Showcase, which he showed out to all of them. So we asked if he has gained interest from college coaches since going to camps? Azaeis: "Yes sir, currently I have offers from Defiance College, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Franklin College, and Saint Mary Of The Woods to further my education and play at the next level. I am very appreciative of the opportunities provided to me through camps like DeBree Football amongst others. The exposure and direct conversations and advice has been great. The Ben Davis coaching staff has also been great working with me to make sure I'm prepared when stepping into those camp settings". We then asked Azaeis what he enjoyed doing over summer break that was away from football? Azaeis: "I enjoy playing my PS5, swimming, and skating. Mostly hanging out with my friends". When asked what his personal goals were for this season Azaeis responded with some absolutely great goals. Azaeis stated "My personal goals for this season are to continue growing as students athlete. Grow as a leader. As far as accomplishments, playing well enough to earn All-MIC and maybe play in the All Star game. Just having fun playing this season with my teammates. Hopefully it all comes to an end holding the 6A title". Azaeis and the Giants look to build on their 2024 season this year as they kick the season off on Friday, August 22 against Cathedral High School. @BenDavisFB
