Comms for McDuffie here. Appreciate you raising this. Major events like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon bring real economic and community benefits to DC, but we’ve got to do a better job minimizing disruption for residents and businesses.
Kenyan is focused on a few things:
Improving coordination with DDOT and MPD so closures are more targeted and better timed; Requiring clearer, more user-friendly maps and real-time updates so people can plan ahead; Making sure we’re engaging impacted communities and businesses earlier in the process.
We can support events that bring people into the city and do right by the folks who live and work here.

hi @kenyanmcduffie & @Janeese4DC I would love to hear your plans on how we can prevent this annual event from stopping both North/South and East/West traffic in the District. This is so impactful to residents & businesses. And plans for MPD to do better map visuals of closures.

What record? Pointing out that one has achieved nothing in their current job but wants to become the CEO is merely an observation.
Also, pointing to “Andrew Cuomo tactics” is hilarious when a candidate is running for a city wide race in DC. They want this to be NYC so badly.

A "slow start"❓ How absurd.
In 3 weeks, @kenyanmcduffie raised over $1 million. He's the first candidate to qualify for the ballot, with double the requisite signatures. He rolled out an expansive, detailed policy platform. His daily schedule is filled w/ grassroots events.

Interesting: Former Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh is endorsing @kenyanmcduffie for mayor, saying that he has proven “he can get things done” while opponent @Janeese4DC has a record that “is essentially barren.” Cheh’s endorsement is helpful in vote-rich Ward 3.
