There’s also time left for creative endeavors and serving people and other avenues. But I have no illusions about where this is going.

@TimRunsHisMouth If you're working in the trades or similar blue collar work, you're golden. If you're white collar, you'd best pay attention - hour by hour and minute by minute. Most entry level desk jockey jobs (law, accounting, programmer, etc) will be facing AI take-overs.

Depends on the job, and time frame. Mostly, a lot of things are going to change over time, and much of the shift will come through attrition - e.g. over time, fewer doctors will be needed to examine and diagnose patients until a real problem is identified. In those cases, more people will have better, faster, less expensive access to routine health maintenance. Accountants and lawyers probably will exist, but at a rate of ~1/10th of today's levels. Engineers will exist, but they already use a huge amount of tech to increase their capabilities... from structural and civil to materials science. Hard to know how far we take it, really... In a few years there probably won't be any real need for drivers or pilots. Heavy equipment operation can already be entirely automated, but for the most part that hasn't happened...yet. It's likely home building can be automated, but whether we do that or not remains to be seen.

@TimRunsHisMouth It's going to be terrible, because upper management in big companies will think five, (cough cough) "contractors", using A.I. are ready to run all of I.T. and they aren't, but they won't care, because all they'll see are the "savings" from the layoffs.
