I think its important I post this because more information has come out about Mimi Yanagi the VTuber that was arrested in the UK For the last 3 days Millions of people have been talking about this subject thanks to the UK being overzealous with censoring and restricting everything. The story broke and even famous Japanese artists like the creator of Chun-li offered support. Now we arrive to this morning. After seeing what has been revealed a few hours ago. There was clear manipulation to the story that has been discovered. Now keep this in mind, this information is coming from Kiwifarms at this time. So it is possible this evidence is manipulated to some degree, because they started off the post literally slandering me. So take that however you will. However I am willing to admit this, but from what has been provided so far the people on Kiwifarms did a good job researching into this individual that released this morning on their site. So I do tip my hat on that Despite my recent issues with KF, they documented and provided actual evidence showcasing Mimi being arrested is making a lot more sense and even I was outright disgusted by what I saw. So lets get into what was discovered. The art in question that seems to have gotten the arrest. Mimi Yanagi is apparently not a woman, but a dude called Jordan. The artwork that was discovered 2 days ago with Mimi's model and dog to be completely blunt was disturbing even for me. Found it extremely weird. However upon further research it seems that was only the tip of the iceberg of what actually got them thrown in jail In the thread it shows Jordan "Mimi" fetishing being an actual "Pedophile" having art of babies having "CP" written on them. There's even more stuff that I don't even want to begin describing it because its actually revolting and makes me ill looking at it I think after seeing what evidence that was provided. I have found my limit to Anti-Censorship on this topic. So in conclusion this situation is fucking revolting and disgusted me greatly. I take back my defense of Mimi. This gave so much ammo to Pro-censorship people because of a bad actor lying to this extent on what really caused this arrested.

What truly could help is more specifically family friendly and teenage-facing vtubers / online content creators. Let's face it luvs, as much as we tell children to get off the internet, we can't. It's right there and most children already spend a lot of time touching terrible things on the www. Adult vtubers and community should bear a even 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 responsibility to safeguard its boundary, and it definitely would be immensely beneficial to have more creators dedicated to creating minor-friendly, tasteful, educational, and relaxing content. I often feels nowaday children, teens, and teenagers lack good educational entertainment that encourage their aesthetics and intellectual pursuits; and having more creators with this goal would be fantastic. So lets not focus on 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 age restriction, but the lack of, and the difficulties of, more family friendly and educational content in the Vtuber space. But family friendly content is not only hard to make with disqualified adult streamers, but also deeply disinsentivised in the space: Like many comments have mentioned -- the Vtuber Space itself is a deeply sexualized, violent, and dramatic community. To be a non-18+ and responsible creator, you not only need to stay clear of those in your own content, but also almost need to avoid interaction with vtubers who engages in adult topics so they dont pop up on your feed, in your collabs, etc. But this is almost 80% of the space. Vtuber growth is very much depended on connection... So it might be very hard to grow. Then- finance is another problem. Underage consumers are inheritly dangerous for creators because the complication of underage spending. Here is an example: Chinese vtubers communities usually bans underage spender, because there have been many instances where the minor impulsively spent on the streamers, and the parents / the minor themselves refunded it using underage consumer protection, causing the streamer to lose lots of money from the refund of physical and digital goods. How to ethically make minor / parent's money, without also hurting the creator? This is also something to be extremely mindful about. I hope this is not a hopeless task, bc i like the idea of having better content for human kids. And I feel like someone with the right dedication and qualification should be encouraged. If anyone knows a ethical and good all-age vtuber, i'd love to see how they are doing.
