Nattapong worked tirelessly, often taking on extra shifts to send more money back home. His dream was to help his wife open a café. On October 7, Hamas terrorists invaded southern Israel, including Kibbutz Nir Oz, where Nattapong lived and worked. That morning, he called his wife to tell her there was gunfire. He tried to flee, but was captured by Hamas, along with dozens of other Thai farm workers. Nattapong was the last Thai hostage to remain in captivity. He was rescued last night during a special military operation in the Rafah area. Now, at last, his family will be able to lay him to rest with the dignity and love he deserves, in his homeland, surrounded by those who loved him. May he be happy, may he be free from suffering.
