Sitting at a desk, hyperventilating. Crying in a toilet cubicle. Sound familiar? We have designed an Emotional First Aid to deliver the right help to people upset at work. Interested in giving feedback? Fill in this form to volunteer. lnkd.in/gu_HbHfT #WorkplaceSafety

We're more likely to deliver large-scale change through lots of small changes than through big bang/all at once change. This applies to changing behaviours as well as work processes. New behaviours ripple impactfully through a team or system: #_=_" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">community.pmi.org/blog-post/7377… V @CCLdotcom

Heartbreaking note from a teacher in southern Ontario. Kids from their school are in the nearest icu. The principal adamantly refuses to discuss the possibility of masks in schools. What have we become?

If you still don’t think #racism is both systemic and embedded, this is for you: In 2019, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria were 4x more likely to experience racism. In 2014, ~30% experienced racism in a healthcare setting. h/t Dr Ieta D’Costa #COSA22

The scale is breathtaking, as is our nonchalance towards it. Key points: (1) On track for 20-30,000 deaths more than usual in 2022 (2) COVID causing ~50%, the rest also likely COVID as in Singapore (3) Last wave our worst (4) These are true XS, ie, no 'catch up' on previous years
COVID-19 Actuaries Response Group@COVID19actuary

In the first six months of 2022, deaths in Australia were 13% higher than predicted. There were 11,200 excess deaths. There were 5,600 COVID deaths, representing just over half the excess. covidactuaries.org/2022/10/21/exc…
