For organisational change, we need to shift our focus from best practices to emergent practices. The "one best way” of working/operating is fine in a world that's linear & predictable but our world is mostly complex & uncertain. The way to improve a complex system is to experiment with approaches that are safe to fail but designed to teach us what may work in this context, ie, build a learning system: medium.com/eliot-works/bu…. The scale is breathtaking, as is our nonchalance towards it. Key points: (1) On track for 20-30,000 deaths more than usual in 2022 (2) COVID causing ~50%, the rest also likely COVID as in Singapore (3) Last wave our worst (4) These are true XS, ie, no 'catch up' on previous years
