@kokochidozie I agree, one creative tweak halved CPL for us while still reaching the same audience. Now I just go broad and do all the work with the creative.

The media buyer who spends 10 hours studying creatives will outperform the one who spends 10 hours tweaking audience settings. In 2026, creative is the leverage. Everything else is plumbing. Do you agree?

Never told anyone this…but after I bought and drove my ML350…I felt so out of my league. It was my money. I had worked for it But that purchase? It felt alien. If not for my friends, I would never have bought it. But I’m glad I did. Every night before I went to bed, I’ll take the key and put it beside me. I didn’t want to wake up and find out it was missing. It took me almost a year to “allow” myself get comfortable in my new “level” because every day there was a voice within me telling me “You’re punching above your weight” “This is for big men in their 50’s you’re just in your 20’s” “Hope you can maintain this life” Nobody tells you that making money doesn’t rewire your money beliefs or identity. A good man with money is just a rich good man. A loser with money is just a rich loser. Your identity doesn’t change just because your situation changes. But if you don’t work on it and change your identity, you’ll fall back to the same level. And that’s what I did. The purchase was for me to step up and boy did it make me step up. I don’t know who needs to read this. But you have limiting beliefs in your mind that will always hold you back until you deal with them. And no amount of “big boy purchases”, or credit alert will change that. You have to intentionally rewire your mental programming about who you are—your identity and what you accept as true. Like I tell my students A belief doesn’t have to be factual for it to serve you. And the fact that a believe is factual doesn’t mean you should accept it. Change your beliefs, change your identity, change your life.

One of those nights where I question everything.

@kokochidozie Buh every extra step a potential customer has to take to reach their goal reduces conversion rate, so how can we better handle this?

Nobody wants to hear this but: If you are running ads without a functioning email system, you are lighting money on fire. Ads bring them. Email keeps them. Without both, you are renting customers from Meta.

@victoriannadi__ It can be hard at first, buh you just need to get the basics right, then you’re good to go. Things like setting up a biz profile, connecting pixels, IG and FB, choosing your campaign goals etc and some other things you need to know so you don’t give up early.

I’ve used the whole of today to learn this Meta Ads thing because I have to set up a campaign for this brand. Headacheeee, why can’t they rearrange the interface or something. So many things on one page that are not needed in that moment 😭😭

There are things one can comment on that people would not believe or understand. When people unfairly malign some founders, I get upset because I have seen them at their lowest and helped them with basic things they couldn't afford, even after they raised so-called “millions of dollars.” Many don't understand how startup funding works. Announcements may be made, but the money doesn't always come in one chunk, and overheads are insane when you are growing fast. This is why I am always against large fundraising announcements, as they are rarely a true reflection of the truth. Even VCs who do fundraises never get all the money at once and sweat through capital calls. A relative in the industry once came to Ghana and was looking for a cheap hotel. I didn't understand why someone who gave out millions of dollars was living like that until I was on the other side. Those management fees don't land like the lottery. You suffer for it, and it doesn't cover much. It was why I decided not to do that anymore and take life easy. So many of the perceptions people have about wealth are wrong. Cash flow is everything, and things can go horribly wrong when inflows and outflows are mismatched. I have repeated several times here that my uncle, with all his banking career income and billions of Naira in assets, was down to his last 1000 Naira at home in 1999, yet we still ended up buying a bank that year. The lesson of coming out of that hole never left me. It is why I make some small, random investments that people may not understand, which sometimes pay off unexpectedly. A domain sale once helped to pay my children’s school fees. A paid Calendly appointment bought my wife a set of tires and a fridge. The key is ALWAYS to keep earning and investing in what can sustain cash flow. There are investments for capital gains and for cash flow. The magic in all of this is keeping the burn rate low. No amount is too small to save or make. An unexpected £150 overdraft from Barclays during my lowest period enabled me to take clients to a dinner that changed my life.
