“i'm engaged!” “i’m pregnant!” “i just bought a house!” yeah well i just got 5 extra hours of my Fable 5 usage limit because i messaged Claude "hi" as soon as i woke up and that started my usage window at just the right time for it to reset right before i started working

I connected my calorie tracking app to my @WHOOP and my @wip so now I have some interesting correlations The worst things for my sleep are (strong correlation) 1) long haul travel (worse than being sick!) 2) being sick 3) short haul travel Best things for my sleep (weakly correlated): 1) sauna 2) massage 3) alcohol (?) Worst things for recovery: 1) being sick 2) alcohol 3) massage (because the lactic acid spreads day after I think) Other things: tanning lowers my resting heart rate!

So I am trying to hit a 500 calorie deficit every day + hit my protein goal of about 150g (2g per kg bodyweight), and I used Claude chat for that, but after a week it starts losing track so I asked it to export its data as CSV and copy pasted that into Claude Code on the VPS And asked it to build a little calorie tracker called 🥩Caltrack with a Telegram bot too, so I can log whatever I eat or drink in there either via Telegram or if I want more granular via Termius SSH on the VPS I like to do this mix of Claude Code and a dashboard/chatbot because you can ask more deep questions to it like "how am I doing", "what to improve" etc. it's just much smarter and "able" on the server than the Claude chat app by itself Anyway my goal is to get @marclou levels of body fat, which is LOW, right now we're strong and lean but we can be leaner, let's try 😊😊😊 80% of body fat is decided by what you eat, only 20% what you exercise, some say even 90% vs 10%, I agree, I eat very clean but I was mostly staying on maintenance Silly calorie dense food like yogurt with low protein, taste nice but it gets you away from your calorie deficit fast, and to figure that out you kinda really gotta track things Other people suggest crash diets like eat only sardines, we know from studies though that crash diets are temporary, you just gain it back Claude says the ideal is just 500 calories deficit per day and hit your 2g/kg protein goal and you maintain muscle and reduce body fat! So I'm doing that And this app I made helps a lot!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!

You remember when we had to do this assignment in middle school about writing instructions to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? 🥪 I think about this every time I have a difficult task for an llm to solve. Even though this is an incredibly simple task for US to solve, if you want the result you are thinking of, you have to be SUPER specific and really think about the procedural steps in the smallest parts possible (ie pick up the knife in your hand by the handle so the blade is facing up). I still struggle with getting the output I want, but I think a lot of people might have been sick that day in class 😅

I have no idea how they make this It's just sparkling water with squeezed lemon (like literally what I normally make myself and drink 99% of the time) but in a can and I don't know but it tastes even better It has no sugar, just 1g carbs and 3 calories

but now the process to get a new key requires two things: 1. decoding the ignition lock (has to be the ignition because apparently the tank and the seat lock only include partial key info) to find the physical key pattern and cut a new key that fits 2. program the key so it sends the right RF transponder secret code to the ignition so the bike actually starts up I hired a locksmith to do both, got an insane quote ($600), but the locksmith wasn’t able to extract the code out of the digital cluster, but was able to get a cut key for $220 that can’t turn the bike on until it’s programmed with the right secret code behold, the new keys (I learned my lesson and got an airtag finally) they’re not programmed, the battle’s just beginning

✨ After asking where to work in San Francisco because the cafes were so unworkable the very friendly @hoopcutter + @DesignWithAllie contacted us to invite us to work at @AngelList's @founders_cafe so we got a Waymo (yes!) and went there There we also met the very nice and smart @luisgnet @flotemer @quasa0 We worked a bit and then of course we went out for steak after at a restaurant called Lillie Coit's, and it was really good steak It's fun you can drop into SF and meet people so fast (of course with a little help from X) and also you really observe the level of conversations here are very high IQ, it's like you feel you were starved off high IQ convos and when you finally have it, it feels like ice water in your brain, just what a joy to meet people who actually know their stuff Obviously this will sound super pretentious, but in the rest of the world you spent 50% of the conversations just informing people on the latest developments in tech and health and then after that you can finally talk about what's actually going on In SF you skip all that because everybody already knows what you're talking about and you go straight to what it's about, similar to being in big cities in China btw People talk about biohacking, dissolvable peptides, retatrutide (of course), recursive self-improvement and world models But to be honest I think you can get that by just being on @X too, you don't have to be in SF for that, but it is nice sometimes to have those conversations not in a X thread but actually in a room with real people IRL! The complete lack of workable cafes in SF also made me think, like I know why it is, it's the natural tension between the more lefty locals and the techies, and the locals don't necessarily want to serve techies, they want to serve locals and improve local SF culture, which is the ironic tension of SF because all the money comes from tech of course But that also made me think in seeing the rest of the world try emulate Silicon Valley with their super cheesy incubators and coworking spaces and startup ecosystem bs that never ever has worked out for any country. SF doesn't even have cafes to work yet they have trillion dollar companies created here in the last few years Like it's obviously not about having a coworking space, or cafes to work from, because SF doesn't really have any good ones, it's all about regulation and how easy you make it to start a business, raise money, hire people and giving those people stock options, and then grow the company and hopefully make it big (0.1% to 1% odds) and then everyone early gets rich too Another thing I saw which was rather ironic that a lot of the people we met are bootstrapping in SF. I thought if you live in SF it makes most sense to raise money because it's 1) expensive to live here, 2) the whole value is the connections to raise or invest? But they say they're here for getting connections and customers, interesting for sure and you wouldn't see that 10 years ago, so bootstrapping has definitely entered the modern startup founder's mind, which is great to see!

I have concluded the best cafe to work in San Francisco is inside a Waymo It's silent, clean and relaxing Aka the opposite of any SF cafe

Had a really SF day off co-working, talking about tech, health, and relationships(?!), and then an awesome steak dinner! It was great meeting up with you again @levelsio and I'm glad we could make your last night in SF a memorable one!

Does anyone else ever check bitchat to see if there's anyone on the mesh? At least in SF it seems super dead. I got a group of friends to download bitchat yesterday and we got 5 people in the mesh, that must have been some kind of record around here 😂
