@AleyArtist Platforms like SuperRare or Desperse aren’t that different from Etsy or Shopify for artists. The platform takes a fee for storefronts, discovery, trust, and tools. Payment rails take a cut too, whether that’s cards, PayPal, or gas. Fees suck, but good platforms need to exist.

Unpopular opinion: I’m willing to pay any fees and gas to platforms like SuperRare just so they exist so that everyone, both collectors and creators, has a place to come to for quality art online

Would love to explore how Desperse could help fill some of this gap for creators. We’re not built specifically for comics, but creators can already post any media type: images, video, audio, and 3D. We also support gated attachments, so collectors can unlock downloads only after buying an edition. That could work for PDFs, ePubs, ZIPs, bonus files, process work, physical redemption details, etc. A creator could publish cover art as the collectible edition, then attach the comic, manga, sketchbook, or behind-the-scenes content as the unlocked file. The model is already pretty close. It probably just needs the right workflows and creator feedback to make it feel more natural for comics. Open to ideas on how Desperse could be better for this.

@bubaviedma Oh, and when you create a new piece on Desperse, you don’t even pay listing fees. Create, share, and sell without paying upfront just to publish your work.

@bubaviedma Desperse is capped at a reasonable 5% platform fee, so creators keep 95% of every sale. Built on Solana, transactions are fast with low network fees, so collectors benefit too. This is the way.
