Last year, I encouraged farmers in the Upper East Region to get into tomatoe farming during the dry season. Yesterday when I visited their farms, I was happy to see acres of tomatoes being harvested. I reminded them of the Agric Ministry’s full support to help them expand and scale up for the next dry season in 2027. It is my prayer that next year by this time, the trucks heading to Burkina to buy tomatoes would have reduced and diverted to buy from these hard working Ghanaian farmers. #idey4u

Instead of meaningful conversations about infrastructure, education, health, or even how to empower local businesses, everything gets reduced to “which side benefits” and “who gets credit.” The ordinary citizen becomes collateral damage in the tug-of-war.
