@Detective82

Following Arsenal, transfers, good football. Those who know won’t speak. Those who speak won’t know.

@MickCoppock Absolutely.. Maybe it’s because I hate City far more than I hate PSG/Bayern too?

@Detective82 I kind of know how you feel. I was super excited when that late winner went in, but if that happens against Bournemouth on Saturday, then I am going mental and more.

Even though the win tonight gave me joy, it doesn’t hit like the crack of a late Premier League winner. I want that title. I wanted to beat Sporting mainly to give us momentum for Bournemouth. Priorities (for me): 1. League 2. League 3. League

@LeGrove Maturity personified. Lack of creativity as it was perceived is definitely linked to the excellent defensive structure - and I’m here for it. Till the end.

Arsenal were fantastic this evening. Sporting Lisbon beat PSG and City at home over the past two seasons. Almost never beaten there. We were disciplined, compact, and clinical when it mattered. Proper Italian performance. 0-1 away win. Can't have people whining about it.

Even without the late goal that was a really professional, patient and robust defensive performance. But with the goal, that was huge! Great tonic for coming weeks.

Ben White played a lot better. You can see how much stronger we are with Saliba there in build up. Odegaard did improve. I think Gyokeres did a lot right, to be fair. Raya is the best in the world and we need him. Happy for Kai because he’s looked awful lately.

@NonFlyingIceman There’s no goal threat at all. If he scores a single important goal between now and the end of the season I’ll be surprised

@Detective82 Yea there’s a reason they are getting more of the ball now he’s gone off. Still needs to provide us with more direct through balls, carries tho. Provide a threat

Anyone keeping track on how many times Odegaard has lost the ball?!

@Detective82 I’m keeping track of how much he’s dictated tempo and the control he’s offered us which we’ve missed.

I don’t even mind that we lost the match. My man issue is Arteta has atrociously man managed Myles Lewis Skelly. There’s no excuse about that. He can’t just be magically poor all of a sudden.

@LeGrove Agree and I’d ask is Kai any better right now Pete, he has done barely more than zero. He would be on my radar for a sale on this form over the summer. He needs to contribute to the final stretch and get us over the line, because if he doesn’t and we don’t >> wash hands

Good to see the back of Jesus. Awful performance. He should stick to podcasts.

This will get brushed aside because Arsenal lost but what a finish this was from Gyokeres A proper gunman. Sorrounded by 3 defenders with no time to think or even set up a shot. He still puts it in the back of the net purely based on instinct

The treble/quadruple Arsenal talk started in January if not before That's setting an impossible bar that's been reached almost never in football history. If they win the Premier League, that IS a massive success. Reaching the CL quarter-finals, on the back of the semis last year, IS success. They are growing. Comparing them to the greatest sides in history and then criticise them every time they fall short, more than holding them to high standards, is IMO just a way to deny them credit for what they're actually achieving. Having said that, today is certainly a disappointment. Both statements are true.

@SamJDean Sam if you were so convinced as you say, you haven’t been watching him enough. He’s absolutely washed. No pace, never in the correct position, can’t cross, can’t shoot, loses more duels than anyone. He’s dreadful.

I've been convinced that Gabriel Jesus still has a lot to offer Arsenal this season, but his performance tonight was worryingly ineffective. He had two weeks to prepare for this game but offered so little. Hooked after an hour.

Arteta says the Hincapie injury is serious, which means we are a Calafiori injury from a nightmare. Best option is to start using Myles as much as possible so he is up to speed and can, at the very least, take minutes.

@Bran_CITY He’s a choker, and he hides. Synonymous with mediocrity and bottler mentality when he wears the England shirt. He loses the ball 40 times when he starts for England in a big match.
