Pen PAL Program: Reps & Role Models 🏐💫 In collaboration with @DetroitPAL and @EMUVolleyball, we were proud to host another Pen PAL Program clinic in Detroit, continuing an initiative designed to connect young athletes with collegiate role models. This experience gave Detroit PAL athletes the chance to train alongside EMU student-athletes while building real relationships with role models who show what’s possible both on and off the court. It’s an initiative that goes beyond volleyball, creating confidence, connection, and a lasting sense of what the future can hold. Grateful to Detroit PAL and EMU Volleyball for continuing to make this work possible.

Our Roblox-based program continues to create real impact across the community. Roblox is an interactive platform where users can design their own games, build virtual worlds, and develop real coding and game development skills. It’s a powerful entry point into STEAM, blending creativity, technology, and problem-solving in a way that truly connects with today’s youth. Together with @accelerate4kids, we’re creating opportunities for young people to explore new pathways and develop real skills on the screen. Even more special, this program is being led by Kira Borum, a former PAL kid who is now pouring back into the next generation. A full-circle moment and a powerful reflection of what this work is all about.

Corporal Norwood continues to show what it means to serve beyond the badge. Through his passion for hockey and commitment to Detroit PAL, he’s growing the game and guiding the next generation every step of the way. With support from the @urbanhockeyfnd through our club system, and the @NHLPA and @BIGGBYCOFFEE powering our Skate Hockey Program, that impact continues to grow. 🏒

Every year after our GREAT Skate Hockey Program, we bring our kids and their families together at Detroit PAL for a banquet to celebrate all they accomplished throughout the season, all under the leadership of the police officers who coach and mentor them. Thank you to the support from @NHLPA and @BIGGBYCOFFEE, and @urbanhockeyfnd for making this possible.

A great regular season of Detroit PAL volleyball comes to a close. 🏐 Now it’s time to turn it up! All-Star Weekend tips off this Saturday, followed by playoff rounds on March 28th and April 4th… all leading to our Championship Game on April 11th. The road to the title starts now. 🏆

Yesterday was all about creativity, collaboration, and game design. During our @Roblox Studio Game Design session with PAL & @accelerate4kids, youth created concepts, developed gameplay mechanics, and are working toward publishing their own games using Roblox Studio.
