During the early morning hours of Monday, March 9, 2026, a PCSO deputy was conducting speed enforcement on I-4, west of the Davenport/Haines City exit. At around 2:53 am, the deputy noticed a silver 2014 Nissan Altima traveling well above the posted 70 mph speed limit. A check with the laser device showed that the vehicle was moving at 110 mph. Additionally, the Nissan had gotten dangerously close behind three different vehicles, as it was aggressively making its way through traffic. A traffic stop was performed. The driver was identified as 19-year old Shauntia Dennisha Miranda of Lakeland. When asked why she was going so fast, she replied, " I really have to poo." Only she used a different word than "poo." We should mention that she passed a rest stop just five miles prior, and a Love's Travel Stop two miles prior to that. After exiting her vehicle, Shauntia began resisting the deputy's efforts to place her under arrest. Shauntia was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Shauntia Miranda was #ArrestedByThePolkCountySheriffsOffice and taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center where she was charged with: Dangerous Excessive Speeding (M2), Reckless Driving (M2), Possession of Marijuana (M1), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M1), and Resisting without Violence. She also got a complimentary mug shot, courtesy of the PCSO. You're welcome. #PCSO #PolkSheriff
