@TheEggman64 Actually, they are exceeding Nintendo’s initial expectations. Initial forecast was for 15m units in its 1st fiscal year. They revised that UP to 19m, which it is set to easily clear. Now, let’s see what they forecast for next year, but for now it’s clear it exceeded expectations

@IvanO260O @SMetaldave64 We also don’t know how many they were able to stock up on. If they were producing 6m a month since Oct, they likely have a nice stockpile they can tap into.

@SMetaldave64 Switch 2 doesn’t have a strong lineup for q2 of the year. That why lower sales forecast. It’s not as big a deal people are making it out to be. Nintendo just is looking at their upcoming lineup and accessed that they have coming out probably won’t push consoles.Q3 will be higher.

So....Switch 2 is selling faster than any home console in the history of gaming? But we were told sales are "weak" and that Switch 2 is failing/flopped? What guys do for clicks is soooo fake lol, but extremely common for anything popular to get targeted negatively. Big meh.

@TRIPSTER0 @SMetaldave64 Honestly, just use some rational thought and look at what we know. We know it has already sold 17+m units. We know Nintendo has revised the forecast UP from 15m to 19m. We know it has outsold all other consoles and only behind GBA for hardware in US. Clear objective success.

This Bloomberg Report looks odd, since if you read it, the article says that they still expect Nintendo to hit it's 19 Million Switch 2 sales for this fiscal year lol....so...yeah, imo, this is a nothing burger. Either way, wait for official reports from Nintendo not Bloomberg.

I thought Switch 2 was in trouble reading some posts here on X, but it’s beating PS5 by ~30% in the US, when it comes to install base within 9 months on the market. So, if NS2 is doing bad I wonder how all others are doing…. (sarcasm intended)
Stealth@Stealth40k

Mat Piscatella shared how much Switch 2 is outpacing other platforms in the US after nine months: Wii U: +302% GameCube: +139% Xbox 360: +120% 3DS: +96% Xbox Series: +73% Xbox One: +61% PS2: +56% Switch: +45% Wii: +34% PS4: +30% PS5: +29% The only system Switch 2 isn't trending higher than currently is the Game Boy Advance. Nintendo should always make it a note to launch a system with a brand new main line Zelda game and a 3d Mario within the first year. Yes, 3rd party support is great now, but many Switch users are just waiting for their game and have almost no reason to upgrade right now.

Bloomberg: Nintendo Cuts Switch 2 Output by Over 30% on Weak US Sales 'The company plans to make 4 million units of its flagship device this quarter, a third less than the 6 million it had originally planned to produce. It’s either disingenuous, or people are ignorant that attempt to make this argument. Had the SW1 had stock in Feb and March a lot of those June 17 thru Feb 18 sales may have come earlier in the cycle. It’s impossible for anyone to know how that would have changed trajectory.
NintenDeen@NintenDeenYT

@Deuce_Gamer Bull lol. June 2017 to Feb 2018 the Switch 1 showed they absolutely could match the pace and even surpass it. Both S1 and S2 were ~1.6M by the end of their first June. By the end of their first Febs the Switch 1 is almost ~700k ahead.

@NintenDeenYT You can’t say that. If they had plenty of stock at launch, some of those sales from June 17 to Feb 18 may have been more front loaded. That’s what you continue to miss. Some of those later sales may have come earlier and been more front loaded. Why is this hard for you to get?

A reminder, "fastest selling launches aligned" means very little when only one of those consoles had a holiday bump and zero supply constraints. I've been talking about this for a year. Today's news doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

@Deuce_Gamer @Six1Eye @Puertorock77_ Even if it is true, if they're shipping 4 million per quarter that means they're expecting 16 million sales a year which is insane numbers for any console overall let alone just in the US.

@Valkyrie_Fleur Let’s compare to GameCube. It will be close to achieving GC lifetime sales once it has been on the market for approximately a year. Does that seem like a good comparison? Some of you all don’t live in reality.

@citizen_los @Chris_Dring Again, that doesn’t align with what we know. Their last quarter report showed profits INCREASED. If they are taking such a huge loss, why would their profits increase? In the end, the doom and gloom doesn’t match the facts.

@Deuce_Gamer @Chris_Dring Nintendo knew the proper price that the public would want to buy their hardware. They couldn't achieve it, because from what I've been hearing they're losing $160 per console in Japan. They couldn't achieve a proper power/price ratio on their hardware. That's on them.

@NintenDeenYT Meh, a lot of people have questioned his reporting for both SW2 and PS in the past. Been wrong a lot of you look into it. Not saying he’s wrong here, but we don’t know the full details. 4m a quarter is still 16m a year, which is a solid number, especially if they built up stock.

@citizen_los @Chris_Dring Maybe and maybe they will at some point. He has been wrong on similar articles and if it is true we are missing context. Bottom line is SW2 has outpaced all other consoles. Nintendo increased its forecast. Clearly far from a failure by any objective measure.

@Deuce_Gamer @Chris_Dring If the claim of cutting back production was wrong, Nintendo would publically refute it. But they didn't, and their stock took a hit. Why would they not talk about it if it wasn't true?

@Deuce_Gamer @Chris_Dring Here's a theory why they're cutting back production. I'm guessing they're raising prices on hardware soon. Which would imply less demand in their forecast.

@Six1Eye @Puertorock77_ SW2 is nothing like Wii U. It outsold Wii U in 5 months. It has set a number of records and continues to be the fastest selling console. I wouldn’t overthink this report, if it is even true, which I have doubts. Bottom line is Wii U was a clear failure and SW2 is a success.

@citizen_los @Chris_Dring The alleged slowdown in momentum isn't because of " underwhelming hardware". Switch sold over 150 million units with the model you outlined. Price is the issue because of the Macro climate we're in.
