@Havakinator @SamHersh01 Well we need someway to ease the congestion with our existing infrastructure, if they just use that money for infra development I’d be okay with that as well. But, I will say public transportation is lackluster in southern Ontario so I’d rather see the government try something

10 million people? Not enough to cover the operating cost. Most people no longer travel but use teams online to conduct meetings. The few HSR in China that does make a profit is the Beijing to Shanghai line which route has about 140 million people to draw from, but doesn't even dent the overall debt. The Ticket last time I took it was $200 bucks 1 way. At Chinese operating costs, mind you. Canadian costs would likely be at least $800 to $1000/ticket 1 way. for a coach seat.

Conservatives want you to continue to pay sky high prices for gas, worsen congestion on roads and make your commute hours longer.
We've been "studying" high speed rail for 50 years - time to get it built.

Canada cannot sustain a High Speed Rail system. The distance is too great, the population too small. For example, China has 35 times the population, similar distances and CHSR is running at roughly $60Billion USD debt with no end in sight. Canada could do it, but it would collapse quickly without huge government subsidies.
