Las Malvinas son argentinas, y voy a decir por qué. Más allá de cualquier debate histórico, hay un hecho que para mí pesa muchísimo: la cercanía geográfica. Cuesta entender qué tiene que ver Inglaterra con unas islas ubicadas a miles de kilómetros de su territorio. Se viene un partido muy especial entre Argentina e Inglaterra. Ustedes saben que me encanta picantear con los argentinos cuando hay fútbol, pero esta vez no. Porque hoy no siento que se juegue solamente un partido. Para muchos también representa el recuerdo de una guerra que dejó heridas profundas y la memoria de quienes perdieron la vida. Desde Uruguay, les mando un fuerte abrazo. Hoy estoy con ustedes al 100%. 🇺🇾🤝🇦🇷

@UkrWarObserver @WarMonitor3 At this moment Argentina’s military is considerably weaker though (because they're no longer a Junta), they have a much smaller navy than in 1982 and are only just now getting aircraft replacements for the same gear they had in 1982.

@Dev_2000AD @WarMonitor3 Chagos is mainly what I’m referring to…. If you start trying to pay people to take territory, then of course Argentina is going to see that as an opportunity. Couple that with the terrible state of the UK armed forces and this isn’t at all surprising.

I face more ideological resistance from students today than I did 10 years ago.
Here's what I mean.
Yesterday, I had a group of 14-year-olds argue with me about capitalization.
Many of them rarely use capital letters correctly in their writing, and they genuinely believe capitalization is unnecessary, or even "dumb."
When I told them that I take points off for ignoring capitalization, they insisted it was unfair.
Ten years ago, I almost never had conversations like this.
Students might have forgotten the rules. They might have been careless. But they rarely argued that the rules themselves didn't matter.

@oli_tatty I'm Scottish but lived in the South of England for 11 years. The people were really nice. Not sure why some Scots have so much anger towards the English.
