I am honored to be a co-first author of our latest publication in @CD_AACR! This collaboration between @VUMC_Cancer and @UTSWMedCenter reveals how non-selective β-blockers impair hematopoietic regeneration after HCT. Our findings highlight the critical role of β-adrenergic signaling in recovery, offering actionable insights to improve outcomes for patients undergoing HCT. Excited to contribute to this impactful work with an incredible team! @SJMorrison_ @StephenChung16 @huwenhuo @madanatyazan @DrAdetolaKassim Non-selective b adrenergic receptor inhibitors impair hematopoietic regeneration in mice and humans after hematopoietic cell transplants aacrjournals.org/cancerdiscover…

@Brandon_Beaber Because hospital politics haha. Bc a senior surgeon wants it and doesn’t want you to question him, or they’ll go behind your back to your chair or CMO and get you to do it

Honored to receive this recognition from my @VUmedicine faculty and peers 😊 this wouldn’t be possible without the support I’ve received from my research and clinical mentors who help me work towards advancing LGBTQ mental health together! 🏳️‍🌈🧠

@LeahHoustonMD @drjfordo I think Telemedicine appropriate for many more patient visits in benign hematology as well. It rapidly expands care to patients who live far away and is much more efficient.

I am an 🚨emergency doctor This is why Telemedicine terrifies me. There is so much you get from the face-to-face encounter. In general, any complaint around the 🧠head 🫃abdomen or 🫀chest needs🫁 VITAL SIGNS, and MUST be seen IN PERSON.. FULL STOP 🛑 Therefore if what is being portrayed around this case is what *actually* happened…. (The patient was short of breath, blue feet, etc.? ) I believe Amazon is fully at fault. They’re probably is a lot more to the story, but…

@VNikolian @LeahHoustonMD I agree with you. Telemedicine may be suboptimal for emergency medicine, but it's a tremendous asset in other specialties managing non urgent medical issues. In my specialty it has allowed me to extend care to patients who live far away without the inefficiencies of clinic.

@LeahHoustonMD Telemedicine is probably a bad idea in emergency medicine. But can help triage and supplement care. In elective practice, it’s a patient centric approach to care that can improve access to care.

@LeahHoustonMD Last point here: as a subspecialist I see patients who live 6 plus hours away and telemedicine allows me to see these patients more frequently. I understand your perspective as an emergency medicine physician but I am providing the perspective of outpatient doctors.

@LeahHoustonMD I also want to add that for clinic doctors, sometimes it can take the support staff 20 plus minutes to room a patients. Telemedicine allows us to see more patients with benign issues with much more efficacy and saves # of rooms and need for support staff.
