Now that the dust has settled on WrestleMania week, it seems safe to say that WWE, amid all the chaos and controversy and commercial breaks, made some very positive creative steps over the past few days.
Oba Femi and Trick Williams have been minted as huge new stars. Je’Von Evans is being positioned prominently after an impressive ‘Mania showcase. The NXT call ups to the main roster, so far, feel very smart and overdue. Ethan Page already feels right at home in the IC Title hunt and SOL Ruca going after Liv felt fresh and exciting.
Street Profits returning is such a boost. Get the tag titles on them asap and get the tag division cooking again as it has completely died on its arse.
McAfee and Jelly Roll Backlash plans being scrapped is great news. How Cody/Orton pans out from here and what Punk’s involvement may be is very interesting too. Feel like Cody will have unfinished business with Randy before we reach a defence against Punk.
Jacob as Roman’s first challenger is a GREAT idea. Even if it’s a Bloodline angle, it’s a fresh, eagerly anticipated match and one which could cement Jacob as a long term main event player. His promo on Raw was ELECTRIC.
Paige being back adds even more interest to an already stacked women’s division. Huge potential for her with new and old rivals.
Bron Breakker and Seth finally being able to feud properly should make for a great summer programme that elevates Breakker to World Champion within the next six months. The crowds have been massively into his return and he has looked great in his two interactions with Rollins. He is Heyman’s next Lesnar.
Danhausen is the most important character in wrestling and long may he reign.
