@KR3Wmatic I've always broken down how belief isn't a choice as my response, but there are several good options. "Best" comes down to the vibe of the person you're having the conversation with.
English

@Develongevity Oh I love the weapons, they nailed that part
English

@TwoTonguesPod @__lilith666 Surely you’ve heard of polytheistic religions before.
English

Every major world religion has a mystic branch and they all speak similarly about the nature of God and the meaning of existence.
All of them say that God is the unity of all things. “God is One”. The material cosmos, planet Earth, our bodies and animating spirit…all of this is God.
Whether you’re a Sufi mystic like Rumi, a Christian mystic like Meister Eckhart, a Taoist sage from ancient China, like Lao Tzu, or a Hindu mystic like Shankara, all of them share the same religion.
English

@Justice_099 @__lilith666 This comes as so disingenuous.
1. It’s obvious religious believers have an enormous impact on the lives of people who don’t share their beliefs. (Law, harassment, shaming, ect)
2. You know feeling impacted by the beliefs of others the point you feel compelled to comment.
English

@__lilith666 Nobody gives a shit that you don't believe.
Why do you atheists care so much that people DO believe?
English

@Treeo_of_one @__lilith666 Nonsense. Even Christians can see plenty of morality examples in the bible being often out of sync with modern perspective on right and wrong. Those are the moments when ever conversation shifts to,”you’re reading it out of context!” or “His ways are not our ways.”
English

@__lilith666 "Im going to be good without God"
*Proceeds to follow moral standards formed from 2000 years of christian framework*
Our concept of what goodness, even in secular belief, is linked to Christianity and its God. Without "God" we wouldn't be good as we understand good to mean.
English

@__lilith666 Take a look into mysticism and you will find a common thread running through all religions….ever!

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot You're very hungup on the binary "my explanation or chaos." Let me ask this hypothetical: Your universal has a singular entity that created it or it was created by a family of fairies who live in a separate dimension.
How do you go about determining which actually created it?
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot I haven’t seen the “whole universe” I can only speak for what I’ve seen
And that type sequencing couldn’t possibly be of chaos because it never settles into a fixed pattern that could repeat forever
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot I don't share your logic. I feel like you're looking at the things you consider success and pretending that's the whole universe. The "orderly" comes from sequencing, not obvious intent. Also, saying I don't buy your explanation doesn't = "...so chance then."
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot Fair
But it’s not logical to believe something that happened purely by chance could create something this orderly. Look at your own body how things are symmetrical and how they function
That’s Intelligent Design
Chaos can’t replicate that
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot I don't understand the model enough to have a position on it, but what from what I do understand, it's a descriptive model for states of origin, not cause of origin.
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot Do you think something intelligent created life?
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot "You don't believe in anything."
How did you get there? I believe in lots of things.
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot So in other words
You don’t believe in anything
You think it just simply is
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot No. Not even close. In order to personally consider them "correct", they would have to have substance WITH their statements that I find convincing.
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot But in order to say they were incorrect you had to have evidence of something otherwise right?
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot Nope. You're misunderstanding the dynamics. Some people told me creation by a specific figure is "what happened". Those people didn't convince me they were correct. I don't believe their explanation.
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot You don’t have a belief of what happened.
You don’t know what happened.
But you know creation didn’t happen.
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot I don't have a belief of what happened. I don't know what happened.
English

@Develongevity @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot No I want a genuine answer. If you don’t believe in creation I’m just curious to know what you believe happened
English

@OnMyWord01 @ICU199444 @kaizen000000000 @icouldbutnot Why? Is that a "have an answer to this question or my answer defaults to correct" model?
English
