Introducing a little inspiration on the corners of the app. If you reply with a favorite, we might steal it.

I got tired of pasting paragraphs between my notes app, my editor, and ChatGPT, and watching the AI forget everything by morning. So @oandregal and I are building Studio Write, a macOS app shipping mid-May for @automattic #radicalspeedmonth. studiowrite.app

There are no good credit cards in Europe 🇪🇺. I said it. Compare for yourself: Europe 🇪🇺: → 0.5% cashback "maybe" → Terrible airline transfer partners → No real signup bonuses US 🇺🇸: → 100K-150K point signup bonuses each → 3-5x multipliers on spending → Transfer to 20+ airlines (worldwide) → $6,000 flights for $200 "But I'm not American." You don't need to be. Comment 'CREDIT' and I'll send you the step-by-step breakdown on how to do it.

I think it’s very unfortunate that your leadership is putting your already obscene profits ahead of its customers and ahead of WordPress. When you make the amount that WP Engine does off of WordPress it’s only fair that they pay back into Core. It’s always better for an organization to do so through Five For The Future, to align your priorities and needs with WordPress. You’ve had multiple occasions to make that right. You refuse to do so. A licensing fee then to Automattic is absolutely fair, as they maintain and build the product on which you profit. You expect Automattic to underwrite all development of the software your entire business is built upon. Incredible level of entitlement. When you make 400 million while doing nothing to build or maintain WordPress Core you’re effectively stealing, not just from Automattic but all the smaller companies and organizations that do contribute.

@PoeHaH @alvarogois Official WordPress events like WordCamps are also a valid 5FTF.

@alvarogois Translations and documentation is seen as valid contributions according to 5FTF. Events are not.

I'm baffled plugins are not seen as contributing to 5FTF 😕. Imo, plugins are what sets WP apart from other CMSes.

certainly thought provoking: what would happen to WordPress if Automattic didn’t contribute ~200k hours a year?
Adam Preiser@adampreiser

I wonder what WordPress would look like if @photomatt was not having Automattic fund 200,000 man-hours per year to the open source project. I don't know the exact cost, but with salary and benefits, that would be $15m - $20m per year. What does WordPress look like, long term, if that were to go away?
