The most puzzling AI-ism to me is probably the "Not x. Not y. But z." Not the em-dashes (an essential piece of punctuation). Not "That isn't x, it's y" (a useful if inelegant way to clarify an argument). But consecutive examples of what your subject isn't -- conveyed in fragmentary, staccato sentences -- before a declaration of what it is. Feel like this is an inherently irritating rhetorical device. And I don't recall regularly coming across it in pre-AI writing. So, I don't understand why LLMs are so in love with the template

Students see no issue using AI to complete their assignment because they have been conditioned to treat schooling as a means to a capitalist end and not a tool for acquiring knowledge. The proliferation of AI is just making this very explicit for those who didn’t already know.

I told @AliVitali that today was the realization of Peter Thiel’s worst fear — that the “woke American pope,” in his words, would take on Silicon Valley and challenge it to build an artificial intelligence in the service of humanity. Here’s the problem for Thiel. Leo deals in a currency he doesn't understand. There's no ballot that removes him, no impeachment, no indictment, no deportation order, no tariff that touches him. His authority comes from somewhere Thiel has no instrument to reach.

They literally tried to charge her with a FELONY for making a post on social media about not having clean drinking water. Thankfully, the charges were dropped, but everyone should be extremely concerned about the implications of this. Things are continuing to head in a very dangerous direction. They have made it crystal clear that they will not abide by the Constitution and do not honor the rights that we are supposed to be guaranteed as Americans.
