At first glance it looks like these divers in New Zealand are just pulling sea urchins off the ocean floor by the bucket load. But there’s a much bigger reason behind it. When sea urchin populations explode, they can strip entire kelp forests down to bare rock, creating what divers call "urchin barrens." Kelp forests aren’t just underwater plants. They’re giant underwater ecosystems that provide food, shelter, and breeding grounds for fish and countless forms of marine life. By removing excess urchins, divers help restore balance beneath the surface, giving kelp forests a chance to recover and helping protect the sea life that depends on them. Sometimes protecting nature isn’t adding something new... it’s restoring what was already there. Crazy to think an entire world exists beneath the surface that most of us will never see. I'm honestly still shocked & kind of speechless which is why this video is so long. I prattle when I feel I'm not capable of getting across the overwhelming feelings I'm well... feeling. Abridged version: We were blessed by a family that's already bought 15 bars of soap because they believe in the small American family farm, what we're doing, and our budding family. We are that much closer to brining Clint home to be a full time farmer & father, the latter being the more important. I can't stop crying with gratitude. I don't think it's just the hormones either. Bill & Lauren, I don't know how you feel about God, but I truly believe he is working through you. You have blessed us so much more than I could ever convey. No video, card, or amount of soaps could thank you enough. I'm floored. Going to go back to hugging on our kids & telling them how much their family is loved & suppoted by folks they don't even know.
