@JacobB198 @Rosenbergradio I agree with you, that’s why I have him in the GOAT tier. At the same time, he doesn’t have as many hits as Drake and he doesn’t utilize the traditional technique as often as Cole. That’s why I don’t think the masses will ever separate them unfortunately. Shit can be fustrating🤦‍♂️

@DevinDavis70830 @Rosenbergradio Yeah you’re probably right. IMO Kendrick embodies all three though. He has the #1 hits, artistic talent, and technique. The other two are missing either one or two.

I think both JAY-Z & Kendrick Lamar embody commercial success, lyricism, thought provoking records, charisma, & cultural relevance. Stop fucking putting Kendrick Lamar in the same conversation as J. Cole & Drake @Rosenbergradio. My G already proved he better than them niggas in 2024. They are not his peers. Sick of your one trick pony thoughts without nuance.
CY Chels@SeewhyChels

🚨 Rosenberg says Jay-Z combines the best qualities of Drake, Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Rosenberg argues Drake has more hits, Kendrick has more deeply meaningful records, and Cole excels in his own way but says Jay-Z is the complete package. He says Hov blends hit-making, lyricism, charisma and cultural impact in a way none of the current “Big 3” can match. Via The Ebro, Laura, Rosenberg Show

@Bobby_Drake313 @kendricklamar This is what it translates to in English “Come here, baby, that ass. You want to grab my balls, and, man, you’re driving me crazy. Suck it, you fucking idiot, you damn bastard.” That nigga was wildin😂😂 sounded smooth asf though.

@KielKonan @JacobB198 @Rosenbergradio True but he made it more prominent within the Culture. There’s a reason the other two did not have to attach themselves to that narrative. Kendrick and Drake are like Batman and Joker while Cole is more like Nightwing.

@JacobB198 @Rosenbergradio I agree bro, J. Cole wanted to boost himself within the culture by coning the Big 3. Even though Kendrick is far better than them overall, they will forever be tied together. Those 3 are the best in their respective leagues. Kendrick: Art, Cole: Technique, Drake: Hits.

@DevinDavis70830 @Rosenbergradio 💯🤝 Yeah I got both Dot & Hov as my #1 of all time. Imo that was one of the purposes of the battle. That’s why Dot was willing to battle both of them niggas. He don’t like being grouped with them and Cole the one started that Big 3 shit to be included with Dot & Drake.

I think the beef hurt Cole the most 😭 GNX had an amazing run Iceman is doing really well But The Fall Off isn’t…maybe it’s the lack of hits, no major stand out song or feature or something. Quality wise it’s still amazing tho but I think his rep got stained especially during the whole beef interviews he did

When it comes to Kendrick, Jermaine & Aubrey, who had the best run of pure rap guests verses? Of course I got Dot, I think yall tend to forget just how active he was from 2011-2017 & how eclectic his resume is & let’s not forget 2009-2012 when he would rap with almost anybody. DatPiff, blogs, mixtapes, West Coast releases. Not everything got DSP licensing & I think people tend to minimize Kendrick because of it. We need a database, cause Drake may have had higher chart placements because of his melodies, but pure rap features? I don’t think he comes close. & with Cole I think there’s just recency bias because of how social media works now. Kendrick’s feature catalog spans across Hip-Hop, R&B, jazz, underground, pop, rock, etc. he crossed so many genres & adapted to so many sounds. Kendrick’s verses were overshadowing at times, he would deliver a prestigious lyrical event & have you forget it was another artists song. I miss those days

I’ll admit that Kendrick was more technical in the beginning of his career than he is now, but why do people try to use that against him like he can’t be technical or as if he lacks the skill? I think people misunderstand his technical abilities for what his actual artistic goals are. We have the Kendrick Lamar EP, Overly Dedicated, Section.80, GKMC. Features on Nosetalgia, Control, Look Out For Detox, Turn Me Up, Deep Water, Really Doe, etc. Let’s stop acting like Kendrick ain’t HIM. Just because he changed what he prioritizes yall act like he lost it. Why do ppl ALWAYS want Kendrick to prove that he belongs in the conversation?? His priority is emotional performance, he’s no longer trying to impress you niggas, he wants you to feel. He gave us a 9 minute emotional confessional from multiple perspectives with psychological layers & niggas wanna discredit him cause of some fucking technical skills like complexity is better than quality. Do you know how difficult it is to write a song like Mother I Sober? Are yall serious? This ain’t the rap Olympics, ppl act like they despise that he’s expanded artistically & just want him to be a lyrical miracle rapper’s rapper

@buyorkcity @DatPiff Whatchu mean “never sustainable” the Atlanta sound has been dominant since 05. It is the longest era for any coast in hiphop.

@DatPiff It was never sustainable bro. These niggas been consistent wack niggas with amazing production their whole careers. Nobody in this picture is a good rapper & it defeats the purpose 😂 just repetitive catchy hooks on good beats. I’m actually surprised it lasted this long.

@DogNinjaHHT Damn, I just checked and I thought it had wayyyy more lol. Would you consider an album that has half undeniable songs and the other half skips to be a solid album. I’m talking culturally classic songs for that first half.

@DevinDavis70830 I don’t think the Carter 3 has songs that are skips though some better than others for sure and if there are skips on it it’s not majority of the tracklist

Why do we act like 10 out of 22 songs make a body of work good? If I scored 10 answer wrong out of a 22 answered test I would fail the test. Just because a body of work has some songs you or I enjoy doesn’t mean the complete package is good.

🚨 Joe Budden says he almost deleted Future’s new album “The Real Me” after his first listen Joe says there were only “4 or 6” songs he really enjoyed, admitting Pluto’s legacy was the only reason he didn’t remove it from his phone. The rest of the JBP crew pushed back, arguing the project had closer to 10 good records. Via Joe Budden Podcast

@ChallzBrownLife wtf Kendrick literally said “ I’m the biggest HATER” what are we talking about. Also, I believe both Kdot and Drake hate each other for different reasons. They are. 1A & 1B of today’s hiphop.

They're rewriting history, trying to paint Kendrick aka K-Dot as the toxic one when he stood up to the bully. While others have a 20-year track record of negativity, Dot is framed as the hater, even though he's the one seeking therapy. #KDot #Kendrick #GNX

@Kidd0584 @HerShesChoclate You got me with that point, I’d say it’s more 50/50 with his mainstream features. He ruined some of my favorite hits. Ex.) Goosebumps: “ put that pussy on a pedestal” like wtf was that 🤦‍♂️. I feel like the other 2 of the Big 3 are more consistent on features.

@HerShesChoclate As much as I love Kendrick and have him as my number 1. I feel like his features are weak in comparison to the other two. His best features are with Baby Keem. When he’s on other tracks I feel like he goes off track with his style. His features don’t always fit the song to me.

@aKaRiot @HerShesChoclate Have you heard that “mask off” remix. That shit went completely left. Also, the ending of Kings Dead where he starts going “red light, green light” over and over again. He loses me sometimes lol
