I’m excited to share that I’ve joined @voltcapital as Head of Trading & Infrastructure. Volt is a crypto-native venture capital firm backing founders who are reimagining financial and digital systems. Since its launch in 2021, Volt has invested in dozens of early stage companies and protocols, including LayerZero, Farcaster, Magic Eden, and Nansen. I’m thrilled to work alongside @soona and @janehk who have quickly built a reputation as thoughtful and forward-looking investors in the industry. I greatly admire and look forward to contributing to their “full-stack” approach to venture capital, with emphasis on in-depth research and engineering to support the portfolio. Lastly, I’m deeply grateful for my past four years at @coinfund, which was an invaluable experience and played a huge role in my professional growth. I will look back on this time fondly and am thankful for the colleagues and partners I had the privilege to work alongside.

@CallsPuts1 I've been eyeing this one for a while. Bitcoin is now up 25% from the February 24th repurchase at a 30% discount (implying $3.50 per share then in BTC) and $BRR is down 20% ($2.00). It now looks like $BRR is holding $4.50/sh in Bitcoin, yet trading at $2.00. Pomp is certainly interested in repurchases, so think r/r looks good. Curious your thoughts today.

Great article. As we see DeFi continue to mature and better protect its users, circuit breakers and other rate limiters will become essential safeguards. This is evident as smart contracts become increasingly under pressure from advances in AI tooling. "Humans can't win this race. Multisigs and governance need coordination. Even the best security team needs time to diagnose, decide, and act. The only thing that moves at attacker speed is code that was already running. A mechanical circuit breaker is the simplest version of that. It doesn't need to understand the attack, identify the attacker, or wake anyone up. It just slows the rate at which value can leave, no matter who's asking, the moment outflows cross a pre-set line."

Met @0xZergs the first year we ran P2P and told him we'd back whatever company he started next. He said he wouldn't take a dollar until he was sure he had a path to a billion dollar valuation. He stress tested a few ideas, found a promising path, put the round together, and we @VoltCapital are proud to have been the first supporters. After a few twists & turns here we are 5 years later. Way to go @USDai_Official 🔥

$IONQ ramping up here into the final hour. Currently IonQ is my one and only quantum play. While I admire and respect other companies like $INFQ I believe IonQ is by far the best in class and see no reason to invest in any other business besides IonQ.

@ChelApples Do we really think 6,500 OI on 17.5/16.5 spreads at 30c net ($180k premium) is really determining the moves in $GLXY, a multi-billion dollar entity that does ~$100M in notional per day? I see the pattern, but not sure what is rationale that this manipulating price so heavily?

Love the current setup with IonQ. It’s been dead money for almost a year, is technically washed out, and expectations are low. Meanwhile, the company has been completely transformed into the dominant quantum platform play. It’s on track to grow over 100% organically this year - with overall revenues likely to reach ~ $250MM. On a combined basis with SkyWater, it’s positioned to deliver over a billion in revenue next year. 🤔

The problem with this is it's not a perfect hedge, it simply has to hit, and you will have to sell your Bitcoin to match the hedge. If Bitcoin hits $100k, you lose, but then say BTC subsequently declines (and you don't sell), you will lose further. You can express 1 BTC and sell 1 covered call with December expiration (~$6k) for around 8% APY. With this, you need 1 BTC, $6,450 (to purchase no), and if BTC stays below $100k you earn $8,550. This is around 10.5% APY, but you are at risk of market moves if you don't sell. Personally, I'd rather eat 2.5% less interest and not be subject to an early wick that blows me out on Polymarket versus the ability to hold until expiration with a covered call.

Day 464: A good way to hedge your Bitcoin exposure is to buy "NO" shares on Polymarket. I hold bitcoin but I dont believe BTC would trade above 100k this year. Therefore it makes sense to me to buy 150 NO shares for every 0.01 BTC i hold. Example if you hold 1 bitcoin: ($73.800) Scenario BTC PNL NO shares ------------------------------------------- BTC >100k +26.2k -8.7k =17.5k ------------------------------------------- BTC <100k 0 +15k =15k Of course, this strategy only makes sense if you already hold Bitcoin, but nonetheless the R/R is very good.
