This Memorial Day, I join my fellow Americans in honoring our fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms and our 250 year old democracy. I served with too many soldiers who tragically never made it home to their families. Today, we should come together, honor their sacrifice, and support the families they left behind.

I've talked with many Cuban Floridians, and what the Cuban people want is clear: regime change, freedom, and a fresh start. My family fled communism when I was 4 years old. I hope Raul Castro rots in jail. Our leaders in Washington must think boldly and clearly about ending this regime while remaining skeptical of U.S. military force, as it has proven unsuccessful in securing American interests and a functioning democracy in the past. Freedom for Cuba demands a real plan, not an open-ended show of force with no clear endgame.
