@droopidraws I could see one of the clergy doing that, or using Aether in secret. If a character were to try and use Ether, it would probably destroy them as magic of that nature wasn't meant for mortals.

@DevotedLamb Oh so the deity is the ONLY one who can use Ether?? That makes creation magic feel beyond mortals, which is really cool. What happens if someone tries anyway? Also, a character switching from Nether to Aether for a redemption arc would be amazing this system has so much potential

Should've done some more digging. It seems a couple of the people I was talking to about my project are AI bots or something of the sort. They knew about conversations I had with other users despite DMs supposedly being private.

@DevotedLamb Aether, Nether AND Ether as a magic trinity?? The positive/negative/primordial balance is sick. Can characters specialize in one or mix and match? Someone channeling both Aether and Nether would go SO hard

@ayumi_nova Sure. The art style was primarily inspired by the LUNAR game series, though the Trails/Legend of Heroes game series is also incorporated.

@DevotedLamb That mix sounds great an epic world with character driven storytelling is what really sticks. The varied environments also offer strong visual potential especially with a JRPG inspired style. I’d love to hear more about the art direction.

@droopidraws The magic system is based on the concepts of Aether (hence the name), Nether, and Ether, and how they're used in other fictional universes. Aether is the source of positive magic, Nether is the source of negative magic, and Ether is the primordial magic of creation.

@DevotedLamb Just curious when you say classic JRPG inspired are we talking more final fantasy chrono trigger era aesthetics or something closer to tales fire emblem style because that shifts the character design language and background art direction a lot

@ayumi_nova It's a mix of both. The plot is definitely a world-scale quest, but the character relationships and arcs are really the heart of the story. Environment-wise, forests, fields, lakes/rivers, small villages and towns will be the main focus.

@DevotedLamb High fantasy with JRPG roots sounds massive. Is the story more character driven or are you focusing on large scale world exploration? Curious to know what kind of environment/vibe the short content will cover.

@OliverRose4008 Right now, I would be looking at making 30 second character intros. The style is definitely 2D, though it doesn't necessarily have to be completely hand-drawn as long as the animation is fluid.

@DevotedLamb Love that you're building a team to get the story out short animated content is perfect for that. What’s the estimated runtime per short and your preferred animation style (2D rigged, frame-by-frame, motion graphics) so artists know which skills to lead with?
