With 2 eps of Daleks Master Plan found, I wonder if the approach to a potential animation might change. Typically now they’d animate an entire story in 16:9 colour, even with 1 or 2 existing eps. But with 5 now existing, maybe they could just animate the remaining 7 in 4:3 B&W?

@benjamin_cook @filmisfabulous Really exciting to think that we now have nearly all of Katarina’s time in the TARDIS, with the exception of Myth Makers ep4 which she’s barely in, and DMP ep4. Of all the episodes to find, what are the odds it would be DMP? So cool!

@frombwtocolor It’s funny, because I actually experimented with this when brought on to do The War Games in Colour, so that it matched the surrounding episode better. But with the console in the way, some of the other shots would’ve just been too complex and time-consuming.

For the TV Movie, I feel like I should get an episode of the X Files and train a ML to upscale between that NTSC DVD and the rescanned film Blu-Ray and then apply that model to the TV Movie. Would be the best equivalent.

@josh_snares It does make me wonder why the 80s sets seem to have so much more thrown at them. Comparing this to s13 - this one gets new FX on 5 stories, whereas s13 gets a couple of new puppet shots added into Zygons (which don’t look much better). Do these seasons just sell better? Weird.

@bobbins_h Yeah 100%. Don’t get me wrong. I adore this storyline, & I don’t need everything spelled out with exposition - things can be inferred & pieced together which can make for a more engaging story. But when the story is as convoluted as this one, sometimes you need to be more blunt.

@bobbins_h The line I added into my video making fun of it, is from a Big Finish audio trailer with the line read by Alex Kingston. When they’re poking holes in it too, it’s obvious it wasn’t explained very well.

@bobbins_h That’s the part though that I just don’t think is very clear. In Closing Time, Kovarian needed a line like, ‘You’re a fixed point in time, Melody Pond, destined for this. Of course, conditioning isn’t perfect, so luckily we kept a failsafe. Remember this?’ Spacesuit enters.

@bobbins_h Unfortunately that’s not what was shown. When Melody was a child, she was already in the spacesuit. It’s clear that it walks on its own & forced her inside to control her. If the spacesuit came into it later, after the plan failed the first time, that would’ve made more sense.

@DialConfession I always thought that they only used the suit because the willing assassin part of their plan had failed, and so they had to force her to be present. Ideally Melody would have just gone ahead and murdered him- and made it stick in spacetime- regardless of what she wore.
