As someone who has been part of this trailblazing coalition from day 1, I was proud to relaunch the Not on Our Dime bill yesterday alongside our new Assembly co-sponsor @DianaForQueens and our leading Senate co-sponsor @JabariBrisport. This bill is designed to cut off the flow of money from NYS to fund Israeli war crimes in Palestine. As a Palestinian who’s witnessed many politicians sit silently on the sidelines during an ongoing genocide these past 3 years, it’s heartening to see the momentum of interest in this bill now. There’s a groundswell of support for this bill in our community and for candidates who consistently take action against war and injustice. Not On Our Dime is just the beginning. In the State Senate, I will take action to ban land sales, fight against buffer zone laws, and target illegal military shipments sent through NY airports.

Today, I stood with a coalition of Palestinian, Jewish, human rights organizations, labor unions, and elected officials to reintroduce the @notonourdimeny Act, a historic bill to end NY’s complicity in Israel’s war crimes, genocide, and the violent displacement of Palestinians.

DSA electeds were out in force in Astoria this morning to reintroduce the Not on Our Dime! bill, which was previously sponsored by then-Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani. The mayor wasn’t present but he did send a statement reiterating his support for the bill.
