Annie Ramos has been in this country since she was an infant. She's an ASU student, a Dream scholar, and a military spouse. She was put in ICE detention only days after her wedding. There are thousands of people just like Annie being detained right now. This is their home. Our immigration system is broken and there is no reason we cannot fix it if we start working together on this.

The first Americans exposed to hantavirus arrived in the U.S. following a cruise ship outbreak and are now being monitored at isolation facilities. People have a lot of questions about how safe the public is from the virus — and whether it could turn into another global pandemic.

JUST IN: The World Health Organization is trying to ease global concerns about the recent hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship, drawing comparisons to the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove clarifies that the newly identified hantavirus is vastly different from the coronavirus:
"This is not coronavirus, this is a very different virus, we know this virus. Hantaviruses have been around for quite a while... This is not the start of a COVID pandemic, this is an outbreak that we see on a ship, there’s a confined area, we have 5 confirmed cases so far."

Nearly 40 cruise passengers exposed to a deadly virus may have already scattered across the globe — as authorities scramble to track them down.
Dozens left the MV Hondius ship without contact tracing after a hantavirus outbreak that’s already killed at least three people.
The World Health Organization warns that while human-to-human transfer is uncommon, it's still possible.
Health agencies are now racing to locate passengers across multiple continents before more cases emerge.
