To recycle a 'green' blade, you must burn an immense amount of energy to break down the resins. We are trading a physical waste problem for a new energy demand problem. People love a quirky solution that highlights the absurdity of the problem—like the image of a massive 80-metre blade being used as a single, very long bus shelter. Even 'green' solutions have a physical footprint that can't be wished away by a spreadsheet.

China's renewable industry explosion has contributed a record 15.4 trillion yuan ($2.1 trillion) to its economy in only 2025, accounting for 11.4% of total GDP. Agencies like the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air confirm that this sector accounted for 40% of China's total GDP growth in 2023, replacing real estate as the nation's primary economic engine. But after 38 years, wind and solar still provide a threadbare 15% of energy worldwide - coal, oil, and gas provide 81% of global primary energy. By 2050, the whole 'net zero shebang' price tag will hit $275 trillion—rising $9.2 trillion every year (McKinsey Global; The net-zero transition: What it would cost, what it could bring.) This has very little to do with saving the planet or creating a 'green energy' Utopia. It is just a means of transferring Western wealth to China, and handing vast profits to global asset managers, the billionaire classes and a ravenous renewables lobby. It's a case of massive blunt force trauma.
