We greatly acknowledge the contributions of Charlotte, Vineet, and Eun to our understanding of HIV-1's capacity to facilitate the translocation of CPSF6/CPSF5 to nuclear speckles/biomolecular condensates. Thank you. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Excited to join former Maniatis members in celebrating Tom's birthday at this event. Tom is an exceptional mentor, a champion for his trainees, and an amazing scientist. The world definitely needs more Toms to continue inspiring future generations of researchers.

@PaulBieniasz @timeshighered You have perfectly summarized what is wrong with the system(not only CNS), is like you put down in writing what was in my mind and I could not express. Although eLife will be the guinea pig, something drastic has to be done regarding the current review system

@EdcampbellLab @PaulBieniasz @EdcampbellLab I think that the current review system is outdated. Just count, in the last few years, how many fakers have been discovered that rule a specific field for more than 20 years with their dogmas/opinions while preventing contradictions to come to light (survivalism)

@DiazGrifferoLab @PaulBieniasz Again I’m a bit torn, but we will see. It will take a long time to know how many times the papers in the next 1-2 years are cited. That will gauge the degree to which significant discoveries are still published there or if it turns into PloS One plus
