Ian, did you think to check with an expert - even the most mundane of litigators - before publishing this complete load of horseshit? Or, like your Daily Mail colleague, might this drivel have been fed to you? Because… 1) This wait is most certainly not “unprecedented”. For this type of hearing, decisions often take more than 12-18 months to be published. You could actually have just googled this one. 2) You assert that Uefa had “similar” evidence at CAS. This is egregiously false. Again, a quick google would have told you. Uefa had just 6 (SIX) emails submitted into evidence at CAS. The PL had THOUSANDS of documents. Including above and beyond the entire post-2020 cache of email leaks. The difference in evidence base could not be more stark. 3) You assert that the “hiatus points to uncertainty about the evidence”. This is absolute nonsense. If there were uncertainty about the evidence, then the Commission would find “no liability” (i.e., a City win) on the basis of the facts. This is by far the QUICKEST decision to write up. Not the slowest. The decision would have been published within a matter of weeks. Below is an extract from what the Man City Champion, Stefan Borson, wrote on the matter. 4) You then compare this civil hearing to the criminal trial of Shipman and the length of time it took to weigh the evidence and reach a verdict. Not only is this bizarre - it’s moronic. They are nothing alike. A criminal jury doesn’t have to take months to WRITE UP their decision and justify it in law before making it known. They just make a decision. The Commission does have to though. The decision in the Man City case will be many hundreds of pages long. Quite possibly over a thousand pages. That is what takes so long. The more individual decisions that go against City, the longer it takes to write up because they must be rigorously justified. 5) You then go on to write a load of tosh about the meaning and weight of the evidence. And “tosh” is me being very polite. I can’t be bothered to take this apart line by line - I’ve done it too many times before in my threads on the evidence. I can’t claim to know your motives for publishing this disgraceful piece - but it certainly can’t be righteous.
