I'm honestly of two minds about Revan's narrative in SWTOR. I think it's classic, tragic Star Wars that after all the compromises Revan originally made to defeat the true Sith, it's actually compelling for him venture out to confront them and just be utterly defeated...

@SpiderWolfHowln @nuhre_ Avowed had some good points but the world felt more dull to me compared to Pillars 1 and 2. I'm not sure why though.

@nuhre_ Avowed was actually pretty good, and it actually has an excuse of being set in a wild magic Feywild overseen by a childlike crazy god to look like that. It was very fun, and I actually liked the world and the NPCs. Veilguard just fucking sucked on every single level, bar none.

The generic modern fantasy look makes me sick. How do you make a fantasy game look like a corporate PowerPoint?

@TheStarwald It seems pretty obvious that now that he is a “big deal” something about the writing or editing process has changed to create less polished books. Probably inevitable with the level of popularity and quantity of output.

Sanderson is one of my idols. His books have made a measurable impact on my life, notably Oathbringer, Way of Kings, and the Mistborn series. My first book ever published, Everfont, is extremely similar in prose and progression (albeit my attempt is much more fumbling and amatuerish). He to this day stands as one of my greatest inspirations. I think Wind and Truth, Rhythm of War, and Lost Metal are his weakest books. I don't know what changed, but there has been a notable shift in quality. I genuinely hope he is able to return to form. I've met him in person once before (outside of author/writing events) and he is a genuinely nice person. I wish him nothing but the best, as he is one of my heroes.
