Jesus did not claim to be God, in fact he called himself the Son of Man consistently. He was an enlightened human being, and that is a far more useful truth than divinity. A God achieving 'oneness' tells us nothing about our potential. A man doing it tells us everything. Even Jesus says he wants others to experience the same status he himself had achieved. He was not gatekeeping. Successful practicing of his teachings results in the same enlightened christ consciousness for all who faithfully follow them.

Jesus never explicitly said, “I am God.” What he taught was that unity with God, the realization of oneness with the divine, was available to everyone, and that he himself had awakened to that reality. That is very different from plainly declaring himself to be God in the flesh. Much of the later theological framing you just cited comes from centuries of religious interpretation layered onto his story, not from direct statements Jesus himself made. So the question remains: where does Jesus explicitly and unambiguously say, in his own words, “I am God”?

I think you missed the point entirely. The point is the story of Jesus tells us we can all realize that same oneness with all that Jesus himself had achieved.. It would not be remarkable if it was God who had achieved this, as God is inherently one with all. Jesus even tells us that we all share this in this same capacity and wants us all to realize it as he did. I agree it's not just about your or me, it's about all of us, we are all united as our father's children.
