Couldn't find such a figure anywhere, so made it myself: excess mortality in Europe by NUTS2 regions (March 2020 until now) using weekly data from @EU_Eurostat. Several regions in Bulgaria lost >1.1% of the entire population to the pandemic (same in Russia btw). Animation below.
