I'm all for "being Libertarian". But the Libertarians need to quit kowtowing to globalism. That's the one thing that aggravated the fuck out of me about Libertarians, that they were so "free market" that they didn't think it was important to have some protectionism. Globalism has been a failure. And the Libertarians need to let it go.

That’s why if you got the same job in Dallas, Raleigh or Atlanta you wouldn’t be getting paid as much. Don’t act like your job is that rare

@cptdankkk I am actually a huge PC fanboy over apple, but in Apple’s defense, they do make great quality products. If you buy an iPhone it will last you 5-10 years easily as long as you don’t break it. Other phone brands? 😅 not quite. Batteries obv will need to be swapped.

@Fat_Electrician Keep in mind there are massive bot operations being run by Russia/China/Iran to politically influence the west - in this case against data centers. We are in a digital arms race and the east doesn’t want the west (or really USA) to get too far ahead. Not even kidding.

I’ve looked into this very minimally, so I’m genuinely asking. Why are people opposing data centers so hard? My gut feeling is it’s hippies opposing nuclear power 2.0, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise.

@commie_trucker Liar.. if you are actually a truck driver you aren’t allowed to drive that many hours in a week. American truckers are allowed 70 hours on shift (not just driving) in an 8 day period or 60 in a 7 day period. The maximum in a work week is 55 hours including mandatory breaks.

I’m 43 now. I’ve worked 50-70 hours a week my entire adult life. I’ve lost years of time with my children and loved ones just so we could afford to live. This life is not only cruel, but unnecessarily cruel. A better world is possible.
