I tried to visit the Mazar-e-Shuhada at 4:30 AM today to pay my humble tributes to our martyrs of 13th July. I was accompanied by the Provincial President of the JKNC Women’s Wing @sabiya_qadri Ji. Physical barriers cannot prevent us from honouring the supreme sacrifices of our martyrs. Their memory, courage, and legacy will forever remain alive in our hearts. We will continue to pay our tributes with dignity and unwavering respect.

Literally zero civic sense. Swimming in these beautiful natural waters and making them dirty is completely unacceptable. I have personally seen many people using soap and shampoo in these rivers. You can even see a tent in the background, and many people leave their plastic, food wrappers and other waste behind instead of taking it back with them. Our rivers, lakes and mountains are not dustbins. They are part of Kashmir’s natural heritage and deserve respect. #kashmir

Yes, we Kashmiris like tourists @TheIrtiqaMufti. Why wouldn’t we? They come here spend their money, support local businesses and help boost our economy. They come to enjoy Kashmir’s beauty and nature. Why would we dislike them? Many families in Kashmir depend on tourism for their livelihood. There are cab drivers who have bought new Innova cars on loans just to serve tourists. There are shopkeepers in Srinagar, Sonamarg, Pahalgam and many other places whose businesses are largely dependent on tourism. Shikara riders, hotel owners, guides, pony handlers, restaurant owners, handicraft sellers and many many others earn their livelihood because tourists visit Kashmir. Tourism supports thousands of families across the Valley. That’s why I don’t understand your tweet. What was your thinking behind posting it? Aren’t you a Kashmiri? Don’t you know how important tourism is for our people? What was the logic behind it? Were you trying to create hate against tourists? Because that’s exactly the message your tweet gives. I hope your mother, @MehboobaMufti being a former Chief Minister, will tell you that this was the wrong message to send. Yes, we Kashmiris do not like double-faced people. We do not like those who are willing to sell Kashmir’s interests, its youth, and its future for their own political or personal benefit IYKYK.
