SECRETARY RUBIO: Why are we in NATO? You have to ask that question. Why do we send trillions of dollars and have all of these American forces stationed in the region, if in our time of need, we won't be allowed to use those bases?

Secretary of State Marco Rubio just dropped a truth bomb: "If Europe won’t allow us to use the bases we man and fund for their defense when we need them, we ought to close them down and remove our troops from Europe!" We’ve been Europe’s bodyguard, landlord, and ATM for 80 years while they trash America and live rent-free off our military. No more freeloading. Time to pay the rent… or we’re changing the locks.

Two gold medal hockey games (Men's and Women's) pitting the USA vs. Canada both ended in OT losses for our friends to the North. Americans are largely thrilled about the victories, because of course they are. That's how international competitions like the Olympics work. But it's still not as big of a deal here and will rapidly move into yesterday's news. On the other hand, we have our Canadian friends. They're gutted...and not just b/c of the outcome of the game. Not saying that part didn't hurt b/c, of course, it did. But we can't talk about this without considering the other side of the coin. See, to many of them these outcomes represent a loss to Trump and the MAGA faithful...neither of whom are their enemies, I might add. This rage pretty much only exists on one direction. Ultimately, these TDS-addled Canuck's who loathe Trump with a white-hot passion needed this victory to really stick it to him. Which means the loss is much deeper than having just lost to the USA on the ice. The repercussions are akin to a near-fatal soul wound for many.

The funniest thing about the US beating Canada in hockey is that most Americans don't even like hockey. We'll be over it by Monday. The Syrupeans will be seething for at least 4 years.
