Although we are writing OTM calls to navigate this environment a bit, there still is some heavy risk for a crazy news drop or something. With customers being long these OTM $SPX 0dte calls, they are likely betting on some type of news... Could be hedges, BUT just trade slowly.

I know I can be kind of an asshole when I talk to other traders. It is NOT arrogance, it is concern. I have backed many many traders with my own money, I have been a small partner in an FCM, I owned my own prop(real prop not funding company) I have traded with and against some of the best traders of alll time. I have made every mistake you can imagine; probably invented a few along the way. I know what works in the long term and I know exactly what will hold you back or destroy you or both. So if I seem short or rude, I don’t mean to. I just don’t want to see you, any of you do the things I have watched some GREAT traders do that ultimately destroyed them. Like you, I thought Inwasnrhe exception to the rule, I thought I knew better. I didn’t. Listen to me, or not. I will continue to be me.

🍾🥳What a spectacular morning!! To call for a 2x implied move 90 minutes before market open - I was dumbfounded by the accuracy of @OptionsDepth ! More impressive is that we ended the day at only about 50% of the implied move!
This is why we prep!
🎯The implied move for tomorrow is 31 points giving us the following range:
✍️If we get over ES 6435 overnight, we likely press higher tomorrow. As a preview to the preview, we have a lot of upside positioning for tomorrow and little downside positioning before 6300.
➡️In other words, if tomorrow is a down day, it will be massively down but if not, then look for a grind up day, level to level (details in AM 🫵👇).

Options Mosaic Preview Note for August 20, 2025 ************************************************************* ✍️Overnight we nearly got to the lower implied move. We bounced but are failing again and I'm looking for clues to a continuation lower. More below in the flows discussion. 🚨At 2pm we get the Fed minutes. I don't usually pay much attention but after the Kugler resignation, I am curious to see if there is any apparent dissent amongst the ranks. 🎯The implied move as of last night was 29 points. Given a reference of 6405 this morning, we have a 25 point straddle implying a range of 6430-6380. Also, last night, I screwed up my ranges. Here are the corrected ranges based on the overnight straddle: @OptionsDepth ⚖️My pivot for today will be 6400. ⬆️ 6400, I'll be watching for 6410, 6425, 6440, and ultimately 6450 (not my base case). ⬇️ 6400, look to 6375, 6350 with large support at 6330/20 which would be a very outsized move relative to the straddle. 🚨Nonetheless, I'll be looking for signs of non-stop selling off the open to bring 6330/20 into play.🚨 @ConvexValue Gamma flips from +ve to -ve at 6400 (delta slope goes to 0). 🎙️ @iv_trader and I will be back with #PMFS on Monday, Aug. 25!
