Google was a nerdy word based on the name for an incredibly large number, a googol. Its business and its identity made it a common word and a verb. Abaxx (or abaxX) is a nerdy word based on the original “tool” of counting, the abax, the first external abstraction of mental calculations and memory, literally marks in the sand (or eventually baked in tablets). I remember my first Google account in grad school, how nerdy and cool it was, and being embarrassed a bit when I didn’t know the correct pronunciation (made even worse with my dyslexia and just being back from Russia, reading my favourite author “Гоголь”, Gogol), and not knowing the long vowel (like many people with abaxx). There will be the abaxX one day, it will stick if our business and identity are right.

💯 We can do it right, but there is no need to force something and chase it. It’s not high on my priority because I don’t think the commercial risk managment market is there yet (as I’ve posted before). This will be all paper speculation which isn’t our interest. We will develop our markets and connectivity, our tech, and our brand further. We will be there with a Smarter Market with the best tech when the time is right, I’m pretty confident in that.
