@FrankenforIowa Ummm, no they won’t. The U.S. has some of the best military kit around. Not everything but certainly in missiles, and jet fighters.

Trump – No Tomahawk Cruise Missiles for Europe.
Is Trump deliberately weakening Europe against a Russian attack?
Trump's announcement to reduce the US military contingent in Germany by more than 5,000 troops and to completely rescind the deployment of a battalion with long-range weapons – including Tomahawk cruise missiles – personally promised by Biden, is not just a dangerous U-turn. It is a strategic error of historic proportions that undermines the entire European security architecture. FT.
While Biden had explicitly positioned the presence of American long-range weapons in Germany as a response to the growing Russian threat, Trump is now signaling precisely the opposite: America is withdrawing, deterrence is being weakened, and NATO's eastern flank remains vulnerable. More than 5,000 fewer troops in Germany mean, specifically, less training capacity, less rapid response capability, and less credibility with Moscow. The Tomahawks, which Putin has so far had to take seriously, will remain in the US – or will not be deployed at all. This isn't "cost optimization," it's a gift to the Kremlin.
You can twist and turn it however you like: This policy appears to be a deliberate attempt by Trump to weaken Europe as much as possible for Russia's next move. Whether driven by isolationist indifference, a misguided "America First" logic, or an undisguised sympathy for authoritarian leaders, the result is the same: Putin receives the clear message that the US is no longer prepared to defend its European allies with full force. Germany, Poland, the Baltic states, and Ukraine are paying the price for this American self-disempowerment.
Europe is now being forced to finally assume responsibility itself—unfortunately, it's clear that most European states are neither financially nor politically capable of doing so.

@RodDMartin @Strandjunker As a Belgian soldier I was actually stationed in West-Germany in the eighties but I wouldn't call that an invasion.
English

@Strandjunker So it turns out that our close friend Morocco — which is actually cooperative — used to host five bases for us, all of which are the same distance from here as Ramstein.
And Poland actually faces a threat. Who's going to invade you, Belgium?
English

It is telling, once again, that it takes a Trump outburst for the general public to become aware of the dramatic capability gap Europe faces in the missile domain.
Europe is virtually as exposed without an American long-range fires battalion as it was before.
The real threat to European security is not a hostile America, it is Europe's own obliviousness and incompetence.

@AuschwitzMuseum Brutal war, on both sides. Of Paulus' 6th army, of the more than 100.000 German soldiers who surrendered to the Sovjets only 5.000 survived.

ONLINE LESSON | Fate of Soviet prisoners in Auschwitz
Altogether 11,964 Soviet prisoners of war were registered in the German Nazi concentration and extermination Auschwitz camp, and there was moreover an estimated 3,000 soldiers of the Red Army who were brought to the camp and killed without being entered into the registers.
Accounting for the few hundred who were removed from the camp and the several dozen who escaped, the estimated number of Soviet POWs who died or were killed in Auschwitz exceeded 14,000.

@Patriotess1976 @MikeNellis Do you even know what the word nazi stands for?
English

@MikeNellis Unpopular president? You Nazis just make up garbage every second of the day. The only people President Trump is not popular with are the Nazis, the Islamic terrorists/invaders, and Democrats (same people).
English

It’s not hard to understand what’s happening in the MAGA media ecosystem. The influencers who have broken from Trump, like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes, are growing their audiences. The people who have stuck with a very unpopular president, like Shapiro and Loomer, are watching their engagement decelerate dramatically.

@MP32850564 @angelshalagina No, Russia media did repeatedly stated that they would take Kyiv in three days. Officers even brought their gala uniforms with them for the celebrations.
English

@angelshalagina Russian's never said that US media did, US said Iran would fall in 3 days, its been 3 months, nothing happened, US consumers loose $900 a month pay more for fuel, Russia has decimated EU, US, and UKR, small terror attacks by UKR won't change that...
English

@angelshalagina Nope - from the country which has endless finances and weapons from the EU ... but that too will end.

@Therealedblake @fermiparasocks I think I saw one yesterday, from a distance. Still impressed.

@heterodoxan Please leave. We are more than happy with Ukraine. Trump is a Russian asset. Please, please leave.

It's actually absurd how many Europeans fail to grasp that denying us the use of those bases for operations in Iran, which is a more immediate threat to Europe than to us, made even a lot of US fans of NATO wonder what we're doing in Europe anymore.
Andrea Junker@Strandjunker
US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany. It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.

The Dutch aren’t meant to be intellectuals. They are doers and traders.
This also explains why a country of historically unparalleled wealth produced not a single world-renown writer.
It is therefore highly jarring to hear the current, entirely leftwing, pseudo intellectual babble dominating the mainstream channels.
The less the Dutch “intellectualize” - trying to reinvent the wheel or fix something that is not broken - the better, because all their “thinking” seems to produce is more and more “progressive” BS and it’s last thing this country needs. Simply maintaining what’s already there (“Je maintendrai”) would ensure absolute superiority of this country.

I say this w/ no joy at all but it seems to me that Dutch intellectual life is just as vapid & hollow as American intellectual life. America & the Netherlands are both “muh freedom” nations.
