Police in New York state pulled a dog from the middle of the Seneca River in a daring helicopter rescue.

A good Samaritan on a paddle board rescued dogs stranded in the floodwaters in Mokuleia, Hawaii. The state suffered its worst flooding in more than 20 years when heavy rains fell across the islands, causing an expected $1 billion in damages.
