As friends of Rev. Garris are pointing out, his PCA Presbytery is having his ecclesiastical trial on Wednesday.
Rev. Garris had a formal call for discipline come from about a hundred elders around the country during the summer of 2024 after he defended chattel slavery (which he later apologized for), and was found to have liked many racist memes and statements like one that said racism was not a moral failing.

The most obvious Motte and Bailey of the kinists is pretending any care for your family, kin, country, etc. is kinism.
Nowhere in scripture or the fathers or the Reformers or in common sense do we find you have a special duty to care for members of your skin color and yet magically no further. Calvin calls the remotest stranger our neighbor.
You, especially if you’re American, are not of closer relation to all whites than you are to many non-whites. That is a falsehood.
Kinism is a specific theology identified by both the ARP and CRC reports that posits God wants segregation and ordained supremacy.
Confessional Christians have always seen this theology that largely developed online in the 1990s, as sinful.

What I am saying is just that those of us who criticize kinism don’t see the quote as kinism. I think kinists may feel misunderstood by that, but no one is arguing we don’t have duties to those nighest us that we don’t have to those who are far off. We just argue that marriage must be between believers, so interracial marriage is not forbidden by Scripture. That is the one major point we take issue with. There likely are some other areas we would object to, but that’s the big one: the construction of manmade divisions that add rules to God’s Word.
