@MeanBobGames @NeverSinkDev It definitely applies to perfect essences, the new runes, and the emotions that do this and add a mod that doesn't exist in the mod pool. Greater essences which add a mod that can be rolled naturally might or might not be included, and fracturing might break the restriction

FURTHER CLARIFICATION ON CRAFT-NERF/CHANGE It's likely a big nerf to early crafting. It is likely that some of the power will return through the new currencies and meta-runes added in 0.5 though. There is one more learning to consider though... 1/2

HUGE patch notes addition: "Crafting methods that puts a single guaranteed modifier on an item now adds it as a crafted modifier, items can only have a single crafted modifier on an item." I don't think this applies to abyss, but this puts massive limits on essences right?

PATCH NOTES LEARNINGS #6: This change is MASSIVE: "The Corruption outcome that randomises the numeric values on an item beyond the normal range now multiplies based on the current value, instead of randoming the value." To get the best corruptions, you now have to risk the best items, but it takes less tries (even with the omen of corruption being removed). This has a lot of branching consequences. You need les scraps, catalysts etc, but the value of bad rolls plumets even further. What do you think?

@NeverSinkDev I don't begrudge anyone who is hyped. This is my list, and it won't be the same for all players. I acknowledge they worked hard and added a proverbial mountain of cool shit, and ill be reading the patch notes with interest hoping to be wrong.

@DisposableHeero Well, to be fair, I don't agree to all points, but I see your overall point. That said we likely should wait for the exact patch notes and tree. Maybe some of your points will be addressed. The stream almost entirely focused on content reworks and additions

@NeverSinkDev There is still no DOT multi. You still can't build enough tank to relax your attention while mapping in the endgame. You still get punished 7 ways for every death in softcore. You still spend more time in the endgame pathing to maps you want to run instead of running them /2

it took about 4 years for people 24/7 complaining about harvest being nerfed to go away... how long will it take for people 24/7 complaining that Poe 2 is not Poe 1 to go away? I predict 8 years 💀

Somehow, I managed to get my hands on the patch notes for Path of Exile 2's 0.5 expansion! It's called The Belly of the Beast, the Sceptre of God league, certain streamer nerfs, the removal of the Blood Mage ascendancy, and movement speed implicits on boots + more! Breakdown ⤵️

@frozpwnz @NeverSinkDev Low tier essences create "non native mods" but not "exclusive mods". No native mods increase the number of mods for determining how many mods are on the output item but cannot appear on the final item if the desired base is picked.

For the PoE1 players out there: Low tier essences suddenly have some value, because they're used for some Recombination trickery. Previously I've pinned them to the lowest essence tiers in the endgame, but I've given them some eco-tiering now in the filter. That said, their trade volume is low, so may take a couple of days to get things right in the filter. Low-volume trades are always super tricky.

The chaos price is really interesting. Were all really used to chaos being the small main trading currency, but its completely okay if gcps replace it for some time. There may be more chaos sinks in the future, but its not disastrous if theres not.

@lolcohol I generally aim for around 10k at t16s, but it depends on clear and dps. Long range builds with strong clear and damage are less easily threatened and need less to feel comfy. I usually am more concerned with avoidance layers being good in sc.

How much unbuffed phys max hit is "correct" for a low budget SC league starter and why? 10k? 15k? 50k? Dont just say a number without explaining because Im curious about everyone's reasoning 😊

@AntiCommieBecca No, it means the same moral bankruptcy that let's one engage in this behavior, allows one to be sufficiently cutthroat in one's business dealings to reach immoally opulent levels of wealth.

This actually is a really interesting point/piece. It appears nearly ALL super wealthy men engage in this type of behavior. So if every man who has money does this, does that in turn mean that every man WOULD engage in these behaviors if he could? Is it solely money and lack of opportunity that keeps men from becoming evil? And if that is the case, if the nature of humanity, particularly the human male is to be evil, what does that mean about God? Why would he create a species with the inherent nature of being evil? I know this is getting a bit existential, but if you take the emotional out, these are interesting things to ponder.

My wife sent me a link to this Russian nanny post. "Would you hire someone like this to help you at work? 😊" That emoji is doing a LOT of work in that message. This is a test. Obviously a test. If I say "Yeah that would be helpful" - I'm sleeping on the couch and she's telling her sister I want to hire a hot 24yo Instagram model as my "assistant". If I say "No way, that's ridiculous" too quickly - she'll think I'm protesting too much and that I've definitely thought about it. The correct answer is no. But I can't just say no, because then she'll ask why not, and any reason I give makes it worse. "They're too expensive" = I would if we could afford it "I don't need one" = I'm too proud to accept help "HR wouldn't allow it" = I would if the rules were different So here's what I said: "You know what's funny? I literally manage a team of people whose entire job is to make my work life easier. If I hired a personal assistant, I'd just be admitting I'm bad at delegation. Plus, can you imagine the optics? The IT Director needs a nanny to remind him to eat lunch?" She laughed. Crisis averted. Then I added: "Also, I already have someone who takes care of me. She's been doing it for 12 years and she's way better looking too!" She rolled her eyes but she smiled. The secret to a happy marriage isn't honesty. It's knowing which traps to avoid and which compliments to deploy at exactly the right moment.

“Universal high income.” I’m sorry, but that should absolutely terrify you. It terrifies me. I don’t sleep very well because I can’t turn my brain off. Ideas like this are the reason I take trazodone… or I wouldn’t sleep. Our tech leaders are saying the quiet part out loud now, out in public, like it’s a cute little vision board moment. The future they’re building is one where machines do everything, humans get paid to exist, and we all quietly retire into “comfort” like it’s a retirement plan instead of a slow-motion exit ramp from meaning. Humans need purpose. Not vibes. I don’t care how much abundance or money is involved. I need to provide value. Not “content consumption.” Not a permanent allowance. This feels like slipping society into a warm bath… and handing us the pill bottle. I don’t have the perfect solution. But I do know this, I really don’t love the direction this is heading. This is not good for us.

@KR2D2LS @ZiggyDStarcraft Recent performance on key items like the poe2 endgame rework and poe1s pending t17 mod rework suggest strongly that they have key senior design personel who work on both and are a bottleneck.

This is a big improvement for Temple UX. Not for people who've already min-maxed, but for everyone just engaging in it normally. It gives enough to understand what connects and to be able to plan a bit.
